Another question - watching Tito's video again - he removed 3 capacitors as he was building a NTSC version - it looks like you left the PAL resistors in, so must have a PAL unit, or was that specific to his build?
 
@leonk I used them as I had bought them a while ago and on standby.. those are very low ESR. But I'm sure regular electrolythic caps will work fine.
@mathewbeall good question - I swapped all the capacitor and resistor values for NTSC signals, see attached image. In the build C15 and C576 are not populated. R965 is a jumper used to bypass the built-in RGB THS7374 low-pass filter.

Are you able to share the part number you used for the EFI (blue EM# components) The Sega Genesis I have has all black components, so I assumed you sourced new replacements? Also, did you install a new DC barrel jack or reuse from the Genesis?

My genesis also has the black EFI components - I assumed I could just reuse those, along with the DC barrel jack.

These EFI components do fail eventually. For example, when I do RGB mod to Turbo Duo / PC Engine DUO, I always remove them for my customers. DUO-R/DUO-RX has them removed from the factory (they fail causing bad audio or bad sync). I've also seen them fail in some Sega Saturn consoles. That's why I was wondering about modern replacements.

Then yeah - seems like the appropriate time to replace with new!
 
@leonk I did pull mine from my original Genesis.

According to the datasheet, you will need the following :
14x 2200pF https://mou.sr/41Tkpgz
2x 270pF https://mou.sr/3js9red

Also someone pointed out all the components are stuffed, however if you have a VA0 or VA1 32X, PAL or NTSC revision you need to remove some things,
- Remove RM3, RM4, RM5, RM6, R566, C696 and C697 if you have VA0,
- Remove C9 C10 C11 if you run NTSC,
- C526 has to be 100pF (currently on my boards) for VA1 or 120pF for VA0.

But rest assured I had not done any of these changes when I got my build to power on and play both Genesis and 32X titles, but for a proper job I have done these changes.

I would be curious to see if other folks have or haven't removed these parts - I didn't, and haven't had any issues playing things (RGBs out) - although occasionally with SegaCD games I get the light blue screen that says I need to be using an NTSC version - but a quick tap of the reset fixes that.

@mathewbeall if it ain't broke.. ! I've read about the 32X + SegaCD combo having some issue with region and hitting reset does indeed fix it.
