What's new
seriously the first batch was increased to cover everyone who wants to order one right now. I'd suspect the pre-order interest thread at this point is only going to affect shipping order.

Ordered mine without any question !

Just a little spoiler that I will be making a Roll-Up Pack for the MVS/AES. Actually two: a base pack with the pure/latest MAME ROMs; and another with a huge collection of rare hacks, public-domain homebrew, bootlegs, and demos. I've been tracking things down for about 6 months now and have some cool surprises in store.

@Darksoft I also have a complete Neo Geo CD collection ready if NGCD support ever gets added. I believe a long while back DS mentioned that the multi is theoretically powerful enough to play NGCD games pending audio conversion, which would obviously be quite cool :D

Please let Darksoft get this pack before you release it. The multi menu will need to be updated to support them. Otherwise they will just not show up in the game list.

Will do. I'll give it one more look and then send him what I have on the 7th when I'm back home. I'm writing this from a hostel in Uruguay :D

They'll need some testing too, since I think some of the KOF hacks I've rounded up (which seem to have disappeared online now) may not work outside of emulation.

Will there be any way for people who are interested in making homebrew games or developing new hacks to add games to the list themselves?

There seems to still be interested in NG development, would be a shame to not be able to use the multi as a dev tool.

Perhaps not, I don't really play fighters aside from Garou.

The Slugs drew me to the system. Shooters and the rest kept me interested.

A quality 4 or 8 gb micro sd card will cost you just as much as a 16gb these days so......

If you just want a few games a 4gb should do, if you want the entire library you would need a 16gb which is the reason why a 16gb was a purchase option to be included with the sales of the kit.

To have both of Smokemonster's packs I would use 2 cards and because prices are about the same, I would just get 2x 16gb cards.

last time I went to buy micro SDs in quantity the 8gbs were cheaper than all the smaller sizes. and 16gb cards were only a few pennies more.

I'll have to get back to you (on December 7th) about the full size of the pack. I can't remember how large it expands to. Most people probably won't want everything though, like with CPS-2.

Thinking about this, I should do one additional add-on pack, which will have all of the older official ROM revisions. So it will be like CPS-2, where the base pack has a single copy (or two in certain cases) of each ROM, using the most recent revision. People who want everything can add-on a pack with every revision of every game. This saves space and makes navigation easier.

So it would be:
1. Base Pack: Most recent revision of every ROM from latest MAME
2. Homebrew/Hacks/Demos/etc Add-on
3. Revisions Add-on: Older revisions of MAME ROMs, for those who want everything

I think almost everyone will go with 1 & 2, and 3 will mainly be for researchers and completionists.
