Crazy Taxi Not Saving High Scores on Power Down - NAOMI Cart Version

Fixed! Thanks for the help everyone. WangDrum called it. The IC29 super capacitor I replaced was good, but the corrosion from the previous one was causing a bad connection. Scores are now saving after power cycle.

Crazy Taxi Not Saving High Scores on Power Down - NAOMI Cart Version

Thanks. I did notice some corrosion on the board and cleaned it. I'll take a second pass.

ROM test and RAM test attached. Looks like WangDrum is right. IC29 is the super cap I replaced.

Crazy Taxi Not Saving High Scores on Power Down - NAOMI Cart Version

That is possible, but I have seen conflicting information on that front. Some people on Reddit and Arcade Projects have indicated that it does save scores. Hard to know what is true as information is all over the place.

Crazy Taxi Not Saving High Scores on Power Down - NAOMI Cart Version

It does. I am able to change the coin settings and they keep the settings.

Crazy Taxi Not Saving High Scores on Power Down - NAOMI Cart Version

I have a Crazy Taxi cartridge that works great for the most part, but the game will not save the high scores after it is powered off. The CR2032 was dead, so I replaced it. I also replaced the super cap. Neither of these fixed the issue. Hardware is a NAOMI 1 with a dedicated cart, not net...

Well, now I have another reason to visit New Zealand. Unfortunately I don't think this will qualify as a carry on for the return flight. 😭

AMP Up Pin Removal - SEGA Blast City

Does anyone know the best tool to remove AMP Up pins on the SEGA Blast City? I want to fashion a JVS Power Plug from the cabinet I/O board and I may have to modify some of the pins that are running to the JAMMA harness. Unfortunately Google is no help, because as soon as the word "AMP" is...

SEGA Blast City Communi Port Cover - HOT-1303

I recently refurbished a Blast City cabinet that was missing the HOT-1303 port cover. There are very few topics on the web that covered this and I couldn't find one to buy. @RandomRetro made a great simple design for 3D printing in this post in Arcade Projects that covered the topic. He also...

Hey Lemony. How about a Initial D3 to Crazy Taxi wire converter?

Convert Initial D3 to Crazy Taxi - Dashboard and Wheel

I have two initial D3 cabinets and want to convert one to Crazy Taxi (NAOMI). My biggest concern is the left side shifter, so I wanted to replace the dashboard to a right shifter layout. I understand there might be different turn radius on the steering wheel and I need to change certain inputs...

    SEGA NAOMI 2 Heatsink Issue

I got a board not too long ago from Facebook. It was in relatively good shape but loud as a damn banshee. When I went to remove the 40mm fans, I was in for a nice surprise. Someone had already replaced them with 40x40x20 instead of 40x40x15, cut up the fan housings and did a botch job on the...
