LED credit counter pcb not working only on mv1f

I have made a led credit counter repro that works fine with my mv2f board. https://github.com/mourix/MV-LED But it is not working on my mv1f board. Checked connecting to both P1 and P2 connectors, and the led won't even light on (as if it wasn't getting power). I've checked the 2 5v pins and 2...

Stereo mod Everten Vs MV-1X Stereo Board MVS MV-1FZ

Never seen the first one. Maybe there are additional components on the back of the PCB. The second one is the smd version of the MKL "improved" stereo circuit. The first one seems design for a much clean installation. Without more information, I would definitely go with the well known mkl design

Golden Axe Port - Dev log

On mv1a and mv1c Golden Axe and Shinobi are working fine On mv1b both fine, but Golden Axe is showing minor vertical lines in specific parts of the gameplay On 4 slot, Golden Axe shows vertical lines (as in mv1b) On 2 slot, Golden Axe is OK but Shinobi shows either no graphics at all or very...

Reverse engineering 161 in 1 cartridge to change Rom games

The graphics of the games are divided in the 3 Croms. The first games are stored in C1, the following ones in C2 and the last ones in C3. You may have a problematic Crom that will affect only the games stored in that rom

Golden Axe Port - Dev log

Well, the solution seems now easy enough. J9 in PROGTOP is not the one, it shall be J10. I confirm this in case it's useful to someone. I used 27c800 por P1. The cart is working fine (except that no music obviously because I have pending soldering the V roms)

Golden Axe Port - Dev log

This is what I've done since I'm still waiting for the 27c160 eproms to arrive For prom, I' used 27c800, for m1 27c010 and for s1 27c1001 with pins 2 and 24 swap. I've used a supersidekicks 2 board, with progtop an cha256b boards. All eproms on the boards, except the V roms (waiting for the...

    Shinobi for the Neo Geo!

Thanks 👍🏻 I agree that technically using a larger EPROM than required is a waste in terms of space (when there are available smaller eproms that can fit). But yeah, nowadays most eproms are cheap and that's not much an issue

    Shinobi for the Neo Geo!

    Hi guys, this would be my first repro attempt, so will appreciate the help. The eproms I think i need, based on what you have explained here, are: 1337-m1.m1 (64 kB) -> 27c010 (double the rom size) 1337-s1.s1 (128 kB) -> 27c010 1337-v1.v1 (4MB) -> 2 x 27c160 1337-v2.v2 (4MB) -> 2 x 27c160...

Reverse engineering 161 in 1 cartridge to change Rom games

Well, almost finish, but the cart is doing a strange behaviour. I select several games from each CROM (C1, C2 and C3), and video and audio is perfect, but after 1 minute or so playing, the game goes corrupt, image attached. It happens only with games on C2 and C3 roms. Games on C1 always run...

Reverse engineering 161 in 1 cartridge to change Rom games

Hi, I was trying to finalize the cart, and solder the OEs of the dual daughter to the pins 30 and 31 of the CPLD. But I kept bridging the 2 pins and I ended up lifting the pads of these pins. Can you please tell me where those pads go? I'll try and connect them with some wires. Are they...

Reverse engineering 161 in 1 cartridge to change Rom games

Well, with the stock bios you just get the usual typical green booting screen, so it's normal behaviour
