APOCALYPSE M92 Wait List and Sales Thread!!!

I guess that without all the additional hardware is a different game. I can only think that someone talented enough, could make it so that depending how fast and how many times you hit the kick button in 1 sec will define the power, like in the sport games, but I'm not sure if the game is prepared for such a delay counting clicks. For sure it's not an easy hack.
A suitable replacement really depends on the way the original worked, is it analog signal, rotary encoding, pwm, or something else?

I'm reminded of that Namco System 1 game BravoMan that has the 2 position buttons so one switch would trigger at the top of the button range and the second switch would trigger at the bottom of the range, and the result is that the game could time how long between the switches getting triggered and determine how fast the button was pushed. https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/namco-sys1-beraboh-man-bravoman-custom-i-o-board.20750/

That's a good suggestion but the game also continuously swings left and right to determine the angle so you would have to sync shot power with that.

I like the button idea.

Seems like awful amount of work to get this one game, which wasn’t even supposed to be on this hardware, working to 100%.
A game that maybe a tiny percentage of people even remotely care for. I mean, we’re talking about soccer here.
Apoc and Mitsu have a lot of work as-is on the other upcoming multi’s they have planned, rather than trying to hack or develop an addon feature or hardware to support this obscure bonus game. Seems like an awful waste of time to me.

I mean. I don't expect this to happen anytime soon.
But other multi have had refinements done so why not this one over a couple years maybe?
The C2 multi just got tantr translated by a fan for example.
M92 is absolutely all bangers. Even Major Title 2 which is most peoples donor board is a fun game.
The soccer game is a nice novelty as is, enjoy the multi.
I am all for maximizing a multi. But of them all, this one As-is is on par with the value of a cps2.

So if someone wants to add functionality to it, great. But buy the damn thing as is.

100% worth it.

My two cents.

I agree with you completely, however without the actual ball, this is just a work around that wouldn't add anything to the game IMO. I agree though, if someone was bored and had free time, let's see some cool hack come out! But yeah, main devs likely have much better things to work on!

That being said, THIS IS the place for people to come up with odd solutions to problems like 3 people care about, so why not!!!

@Mitsurugi-w Man, you guys are hardcore.

Yeah I was just thinking about all the effort that goes into coming up with the actual multi, then the fact you have to assemble them one-by-one and shipping em out. Heck I'm not even all that knowledgeable in electronics and I can see there's a good deal of work there. Definitely a labor of love and it saves the rest of us a ton of money and space.

Anyway, as I often say with these multis, thank you a lot for all the hard work. Very awesome and exciting stuff. Please tell Apoc I said thank you as well if you think of it. These arcade games absolutely hit the nostalgic nerve center in my brain and the multis make things WAAAY easier to deal with, just awesome. Much appreciated.

I've started a new thread for info and help on installation and usage of the M92 Multi. I've posted the installation manual over there so you can begin preparing your pcbs for the multi. Note that if you are using a Korean pcb you have additional steps to do to prepare your pcb. Those steps are outlined in the manual. Thread is here:

if yo uwould be so kind as to add this link to the 1st post in this thread, i think it would be helpful for people to get there easier.

You all will not be disappointed. This multi is fantastic!

Installation is pretty straightforward, but it does require a little bit of soldering. Especially if you plan on replacing the stock Elna caps, which is highly recommended you do, these caps are susceptible to leaking and causing major damage to your board.

I also built a 3/4 player to CPS2 wiring harness so I can use it with my multiplayer cab loom.

My MT2 is packed away, I'm guessing the JST NH connectors are the M92 end? Is that a 9 pin connector? Care to share the pinout? I had a quick look through the MAME source and couldn't see anything obvious, looks like those connectors might also be used for a kick harness on some games too.

I could be incorrect but I think all the games are 3 buttons or less.
3/4 player ninja baseball batman is a trip.
