FedEx destroyed what would have been a perfect monitor for my project... (now there's tv parts involved)

Thanks! For anyone else considering doing this, if your old monitor was curved, your bezel isnt going to fit it quite right. You can kinda see the gaps around the sides in the photo. I get the feeling that the tube from any 27" flat crt hdtv would have worked. I'm not sure about the "depth"...

FedEx destroyed what would have been a perfect monitor for my project... (now there's tv parts involved)

This tv came with HDMI. Since the whole tube and chassis went right in, I just plugged it right into my video card.

FedEx destroyed what would have been a perfect monitor for my project... (now there's tv parts involved)

So.... got a claim going with FedEx now. I got impatient and really wanted to do some gaming. Then I found this: No idea if this will work but looking up the model number, I discover it's capable of 1080i and has HDMI inputs. It's only $35 and I have nothing better to do... Hey! The tube...

FedEx destroyed what would have been a perfect monitor for my project... (now there's tv parts involved)

Understood. This is what I will look into if I cannot find another tube to go with this chassis I already have.

FedEx destroyed what would have been a perfect monitor for my project... (now there's tv parts involved)

Thank you. It did have coverage that I am filing a claim for now. Yeah, it's doing mame, console emulation, actual consoles and some steam games. I wanted the resolution for all of the windows stuff. I just took the mess apart. Its an LG/Philips tube with the 2 focus pin setup. The chassis looks...

FedEx destroyed what would have been a perfect monitor for my project... (now there's tv parts involved)

With the help of reddit, I found a 29" monitor to fit my cab. A Makvision (wei-ya) M2929D1G-62. This thing was capable of 1024x768 out of the box. FedEx managed to smash the tube. :( I am hoping that the chassis is still usable. If it is, how hard should it be to find a usable replacement...

    WTB 2L12B Control Panel (Astro City/ Blast City/ Naomi/ Impress/ Windy)

I found them before posting here. Price seemed fair enough. Just wasn't sure how long shipping would take from HK to the US. Thought I'd ask around her before going that route. Hoping someone might have lead on a metal blank.

    WTB 2L12B Control Panel (Astro City/ Blast City/ Naomi/ Impress/ Windy)

Looking for this layout: Does not need to be original. Does not need to have a graphic on it. Will be covering it in vinyl anyway. Will take either joystick mount configuration. Thanks!

Makvision 29" Tri-Mode VGA Monitor in a MAME setup? (M2929D1G-62)

Thank you. I will look into getting a nice ati card. The machine currently has a Trident Blade T64 agp card I installed in 03 with hacky drivers. :P

Makvision 29" Tri-Mode VGA Monitor in a MAME setup? (M2929D1G-62)

So, in theory, I could put any GPU I wanted in the machine, and let MAME scale things up to higher res? Whats the downside to this? second question: If I get a compatible card and run CRT Emudriver, will this actually be forcing the monitor to run at 240p @ 120hz? Will this hurt the monitor as...

Makvision 29" Tri-Mode VGA Monitor in a MAME setup? (M2929D1G-62)

I will be putting this monitor in an existing MAME cabinet that will be running Launchbox on top of windows 7 or 10. This particular Makvision supports resolutions 640 X 480, 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768. With this configuration, will I need to use CRT Emudriver and an old ATI card or can I use a...

    WTB 29" CRT Monitor

I have a Capcom Impress cabinet that needs a monitor. About 10 years ago, I stupidly tossed the defective monitor that was in it thinking that sourcing another would be easy. Now, I'm kicking myself. A tri-sync or SVGA would be preferred. Also, the monitor that was removed was a curved screen...
