Hey everybody! I made a batch of these Meanwell RT Series PSU cover assembly for myself and some friends and have 3 extras. While I use it on a RT-85A, they will fit most (if not all) in the RT series including the RT-125 and RT-65. I put a LOT of time into everything I assemble and make sure I go above and beyond on every aspect to make sure its a solid piece of hardware that will stand the test of time! Printed on Hatchbox True Black PLA with 4x walls.

The original file comes from Printmaker on Thingiverse here. While I liked the overall design, there were many things that needed to change. My remix includes both functional as well as aesthetic improvements including:

[astrocity] Arrows to indicate where screw-point are for easy assembly

[astrocity]Digital voltmeter displaying current voltage on 5v line. Metered to ensure accurate representation of actual voltage. (See photo)

[astrocity]Reinforced structural points integral to the cover assembly.

[astrocity] Comes with Extra screws for side and bottom mount as well as 6 Rubber feet to ensure no slippage

[astrocity] Embossed lettering and geometric hole design matching original cases flow

[astrocity] IEC320 UL Listed Outlet with Lighted Rocker Switch

[astrocity]All 18AWG wiring

[astrocity] Molex Mini-Fit Jr. ( 6-Pin, 2 Row ) standard wiring for quick connect / disconnect for use with any console or supergun.

[astrocity] All wire crimped and soldered to spec in respective application, no chance of slipping out of socket.

[astrocity] Optional Additional cables, sleeved in blue/black cross weave for a number of applications.

Whats included:
-1 Cover assembled with Voltmeter and all necessary wires, plug and play.
-1 3ft power cable. My cheap source for these has run dry so I can no longer offer these for free. If you need a power cable please request one and I can work something out.

PSU OR CABLE FROM PSU TO YOUR DEVICE OF CHOICE IS NOT INCLUDED, you have to have your own Meanwell to use with. (See photo below )
IMG_5081.jpgIMG_5079.jpg

Shoot me a DM if you want to snag the one, $55 shipped CONUS (additional shipping charges outside the contiguous US apply). If you want a custom cable for supergun etc add $15. I accept Paypal F&F (or add 4% for Goods and services), Venmo, Zelle.

I WANT TO REITERATE THIS DOES NOT COME WITH THE MEANWELL PSU, THIS IS ONLY THE ASSEMBLY COVER, WIRES ETC IN PHOTO ABOVE.

Damn, these moved fast. I just ordered some of the parts to make my own but same as above, I would gladly pay someone else to do it for me lol. If you ever do another run, put me down for one!

I hope everyone who bought one so far has been enjoying them! Thank you! Few more units going out today pending payment. If anyone is interested I may do another run next week :) Shoot me a message ^^

Glad it arrived safely and quickly and your good to go! Thanks!<3<3

Ones going out today, along with some cables for HAS to others. Have one more left thats up for grabs from this batch if anyone else is interested.^^

Not sure how I missed this but I’m in the market and have been meaning to get my RT-65A covered.

Do you do Minigun cables as well? My current one is Molex to screw terminals and much too short; looking for around 4 FT if possible.

Another one going out , this time to @Cripeuss !!

Used the last parts to build this one. If there is anyone interested in any more units, please shoot me a message and I’ll try and get another run going. Thanks guys, enjoy!

I bought two and both are working great. Thank you!

I had previously made two of these printmaker cases for two PSUs (Suzo Happ and Mean Well) with two cables (Minigun and HAS). The Minigun takes a 6-pin Mini-Fit Jr. for power in, and the printmaker design calls for a 6-pin Mini-Fit Jr. for power out, so I just made my PSU case’s pinout match the Minigun’s so I could just use an off-the-shelf PCIe extension cable to connect them. It looks like that pinout does not match @jcmorrisii’s, so I either need to be careful not to mix up the cables, or rewire the cases and cables I made.

Awesome I’m glad they are working well, and thank you!!!

As far as them not being cross compatible…..Hmmmm I’m not sure why . On my work, The female minifit jr on the cover itself and male minifit jr on the cables should match any of the others as well, they are wired to the standard that Minigun have in their wiring diagrams . here’s a markup I made on my phone, In this photo the blue is -5v, yellow is 12v, black is ground, red is 5v. The male matches that pin out.

I’d love to look into it further with you so we can get to the bottom of it, going to send you a DM if you don’t mind :)

This is very cool, color me interested, however can I make one suggestion before your next batch?

Put some sort of indicator on the 5v adjust screw area so we can tell which way is more/less power. An arrow, or a plus and minus symbol maybe?

My current one has one of those swoops that starts small and gets bigger to indicate which way is more power.

This looks just like the Minigun layout and what I used in my own case, so my guess is either A) something is rotated/flipped (e.g. M or F connector) or B) I did something else dumb that prevented power-on when using your PSU with my PCIe extension cable. Let me take a look. Edit: I'll follow up over DM as not to foul up the sales thread.

@rogersta I still need your shipping info so please DM me with it and Ill have your order shipped out promptly.^^

Did a few internal upgrade on components on this batch, as well as charging the wiring layout to conform to the standard so branding these a V2. This was based on discussions with other clients and we agreed that it should be changed to mirror the Minigun layout. This increases capability with other manufacturers cables so there are more options available to you. This is the correct layout, which all of this batch of cables and covers apply to:

minifit.png

This means all previous builds (V1) cables and covers will not match this. The V1 are an exact mirror or this layout. Be careful when mixing cables and always meter something if you are unsure before using it.

If in doubt please feel free to contact me at any time, I try to check my messages throughout the day and respond in a timely manner.

I got my package and it was packed well and everything looks GREAT! I can't test until I get a MW PSU, but I'm happy and everyone should consider this good feedback!

Some suggestions to make this even cooler in the future!

1. Yes, the power knob indicator. We all know right is high, left is low, but some of us are visual man!
2. Blue LED for the voltmeter! Red is fine and all, but blue is soooo much better and would go with your cable better!
3. Down the road, a full PSU cover. So the PSU is inside. It can still be vented to save on plastic, but a full cover would help make this like a pro-product.
4. Can we get all the wires coming out of the same side? Maybe with #3 it could happen.

Overall, these are great as-is and I'm so happy to get one, thank you, the above suggestions are just if you do take it to the next level. If you did, I'd buy a second one!

Thanks again.

Excellent!! I always love to hear feedback and constructive criticisms; as developing and making the best product possible is and always will be my goal.

1. Will be implemented on next release
2. Next batch will be custom blue IEC Lighted socket and blue LED voltmeter8o
3. The "full cover" was a version I put on the back burner for a few reasons. I had to engineer multiple models for the different versions of the RT series (65,85,125, etc) to accommodate different sizes. Also, My current printing bed wont support something that would be big enough to cover the larger model RTs. But I plan to revisit it at some point and make a 2 part case that fits together to overcome the bed size issue.
4. I have a few other revisions I was working on including a model with wires coming out of one side and one meant to be set as a vertical stand; but after lots of R&D decided against. I wont go into the boring details. I may release these in the future if there's enough interest to make a batch.

Thanks again for the insights and support man!
