FOUND 100¥ Coins

Item has been found
I have these installed on my cabs. I imagine they're for rejecting coins when the coin door is open or the machine is turned off.

It looks like a peg with a magnet, and it's wired up. I got the coin mechs working by removing these. If anyone knows how to get them to always accept while having them installed that'd be super helpful! I like keeping things together if possible.

See, this is where we need some AP tokens.
Link those up with some AnyCoin 3d printed mechs, and away we all go.

If we got them done in bulk, they would be cheap enough for everyone to get into, and there are so many ways to get the AnyCoin's printed, that it would be a great all around solution for tons of people.

my only problem with those (and this will be pretty pedantic :D) is that it doesn't go through all the components that it goes through on a mechanical mech so the "sound" is completely different (I know... pedantic haha)
O.o

It rattles, and "plunks" in the bucket.

It also doesn't require maintenance... :D

Now I'm a freeplay kind of guy normally...its just easier...but I spent years working in the arcade industry having to replace coin mech switches, and adjust mechs/inserts, put lockbars over doors, etc.....so anything that makes things easier, is wonderful.

Maybe if we got the AP tokens done in 100y size/thickness, then it would make things easier for all parties.

Free Play or an Insert Coin button are certainly easier setups. There's nothing like that coin mechanism sound though.

I just set up some Any Coin mechs and they still make a decent amount of noise as the coin does roll back and forth.

I've settled on nickels for now since they fit in all my 100 yen slots (quarters don't) and getting yen coins in the US seems to be a hassle. Plus they're only 5 cents each! I don't think I've seen tokens that cheap.

Having a pile of coins already in the bucket for the coin to drop onto is also essential for that authentic coin entry sound.

Agreed.

Need a full coin bucket? Here's 2000 from the guy I bought from.

2,000? That's definitely enough to fill a bucket. I just threw some foreign coins in mine that I won't be using anytime soon along with other loose change. That's enough for that nice coin drop sound. A few rolls worth of nickels in a plastic bag works well too. The plastic bag keeps them separate from the ¥100 for easy retrieval.

I got some of the gateninety capcom repros, they are light, don’t feel right either lol.
Damn that's good to know, I bought a lot on YAJ and only came with like 15-20 Capcom coins? I did get like 60 Sega, 40 Namco, and like 80 San Tropez LOL 😆 WISH it was 80 Capcom Plaza or Sega!
