e: just saw your location so maybe the starter was not from me

I'm about to embark on a similar process with an Aero I recently received, so this was great motivation.

e: What model pot is that for the 5V adjust? I did something similar on my AV-5000, but yours looks way more practical.

That’s a great idea to have the pot accessible from outside the PSU.
 
Actually wasn't that bad of starter condition. Certainly been worse on these forums.
 
It's a standard pot 1Kohm 🙂
Just for anyone reading this in the future, unfortunately not. The "standard" Radio Shack style panel mount pots don't clear the heatsink. I had to drill a 7mm hole a couple cm to the right in order to have it fit:

The pot you're using seems to be a Vishay P11S1V0FLSY00102KA, which is $15.30 a pop

Not a big deal at all, but posting the info just in case anyone wants to avoid drilling.
 
Did you get rid of the original Aero marquee topper??
