An improved JVS-PAC (JVS-PAC 2)

Trackball/spinner support is in, presented as two mice, I don't think any panels came like that stock.. But you can make one and use JVS if you have the rotary IO :)

This one has been so long in the making, so had to post a picture, this is MiSTer running.

The Virtua Golf panel has the buttons wired up for LEFT/RIGHT/UP/DOWN, which I didn't anticipate, so for mice, you can assign any JVS input to mouse buttons left and right - and then it works out of the box. When picking spinner on the OLED (vs trackball), it only cares about the x-axis, and Arkanoid is actually pretty playable with a trackball that way. Also added a 'multiplier' for 1x,2x,4x and 8X to make it more responsive - as just passing on the JVS values (1x) was a bit sluggish.

Last feature creep, I promise :D The original JVS-PAC never got the PS3 PS button, but since then the required USB magic has been figured out (not by me), and now I can finally play Gradius V on a cab. PS3 mode two player works too. Hold Start button for >2 seconds and it issues the PS button.

The device turned out a bit like an oddball composite thing, so even if the XSM3 crypto/auth stuff is now kind of open, I'm not sure how a 360 would look at the device. If I had a 360 console I would try just for fun.

Not yet unfortunately, but on it..

Yup, should be ok - but you will need one line in a startup script (or somewhere else) to tell the xpad driver that it should regard the device as xinput. I'll provide a drop-in thing for mister along with the firmware update to make this easy.
I saw this a bit late, I just updated my JVS-PAC2 with the firmware but couldn't get the controls to work on my 360. After some googling I found out that not every Xinput works on the 360, due to security.

Hopefully the 360 gets added in the future (regardless, great update!) :)

For now I will just wire up a separate Brooks board I already ordered 😂

Check out UsbdSecPatch, it makes the Xbox 360 accept normal xinput devices (bypasses authorisation) and might just work with the latest firmware invzim posted. Haven't tried it myself yet.

@inzvim Any updates on the reopening of your online store?
I'm setting up two Vewlixes for MiSTer and am in dire need of two JVS Expanders (preferably) or two JVS-PAC2. :D
Seconded. I picked up a Sega Lindbergh cab a couple months ago and I'd love to get a JVS-PAC2 to so I can swap between my Naomi PCB setup and Switch/PC easily.

Very soon, I plan on doing a small batch of JVS-PAC 2 out of Thailand with DHL within a couple of weeks. This is to test pick&pack, how shipping works etc. I'll post more details later.
