But I've got a second set of boards to build for a friend here in the house, just don't have the eproms in hand to do so yet.

Of those 3, Tamashii is the best one :) It's difficulty is accessibly as fun to play and it also sounds the best by far...

I dont see what all the hububs about on these cave titles.

I own all three not DDPII and they don't get near as much love as Gradius and their wonderful economy.

Blah blah my opinion onion..
 
DDP is good. I like most other Cave titles moreso personally.

Darius is still probably my favorite shmup series and I'd pick G-Darius or Darius Gaiden (with auto fire) over any Cave title except Deathsmiles any day.

I love feeding a single credit into Darius because of the branching path choices.

After the first death the temptation to "quarter feed" becomes too strong and takes away from the feeling of accomplishment.

Its like playing God mode in Quake to me.

With Gradius/Nemesis it just kicks you out and tells you suck "YOU NEED PRACTICE!"

Wait, what?! I'm in. I try to post on shmups, but when the top 100 scores are on the first 10 pages, and you are like 127th place... it's sort of sad. I know I suck, I just don't like being shown how much! :P

I'm down for some games I have. Multi's or shooters, or brawlers. Heck, Smash TV!

I doubt all those scores are genuine.
That's why I prefer small "tournaments" with friends. Few competitors so you're assured to be in the top 10, and really nothing to lose, people will still be happy to see you participating even if you're good last.
 
I know on a local Dutch console forum they had a competition like that.
Game would change on a monthly basis, so for example January would be best score in level x of game y, February would be fastest lap in a race game on a certain lap etc.
 
Damn you guys are too quick. Still down for Darius Gaiden on the F3.

I was tripping out when I didn’t see it on the dip list I swore I owned it....
