What's new
If you just want to figure out what games you like, any of the 161-in-1 will do fine. I’m not even sure there’s any drastic difference in game line ups between the revisions; just the chips they used to manufacture them.

Oh ok, I’ve seen “V3” in red writing (next to the “161 in 1” text) on the AES carts so assumed it had to be that one and not V2 to be fully modded. I’ve also seen the green and yellow MVS carts that state “V3” on them.
That’s the one on Aliexpress - the V3 is the one that can be modified to have the full library on the cart

Pretty sure the V3 is MVS

Yeah fair enough. Maybe v2 will be fine then 👍 would be good to have the option to modify it in the future though.

If you want to mod it in the future, grab two because you’ll need the chips from another for all the games.

These things were a dime a dozen until the mod came along. Now people are hodling.

Hey guys,

I have the following PCBs i am looking to move on. Prices in Australian dollars, postage will be on top.

Sunset riders (Konami 2 player version) $500
Tetris Plus (Jaleco version english) $400
CPS2 Marvel Superheroes VS SF (Grey A+B boards) $400

I wouldn’t have thought so. They don’t suit a lot of buyers due to the space they require

It does have a full 3S setup so there’s $1000-1500 there but I still can’t see a Versus being more expensive than an Astro or even an Egret

Great setup for anyone who wants to run a regular 3S meetup/tournament though

Given the cost of a cps3 multi, a VS city is essentially two NAC's with MS9's. That's Elvis' cab who definitely knows how to take care of his CRTs.

If he sold his cps3 for 1.5k - 2k. The VS cab is essentially 2k which I personally believe is a great price.

It's just unfortunate that the market in AU is pretty bad atm and the VS city is a monster to transport.

Having not seen a VS City for sale in quite a while, is $3500-5000 the range nowadays?
It's probably about right... $3500, not $5000.

7 years ago, these would sit for ~$500-ish on eBay... there were *A LOT* of empty shells around at the time because Daytona twin cab operators were just ripping out the monitors/chassis and selling on the shells. No one bought them of course and they most likely got turfed (there's a lot of creative stuff you could do with a empty Versus City shell though...). That's why it's common to see Versus City panels and parts on eBay Australia still.

Before I got my Astro's I had looked into sawing one of these in half. So glad I didn't go down that route.

Considering the $1000-1200ish CPS-3 setup that comes with this setup, it makes it reasonable. Mikado in Takadanobaba has so many Versus Cities and it's a lovely thing to play fighting games head-to-head with someone cross from you on a 1P panel. It's also without a doubt their busiest section, always with the most players in the entire 2 level arcade space.

BUT. A dual cab is a commitment, in size, weight and space. I thought about it for 30 seconds and noped the fuck out.

Confident this will end up proudly in someones collection, hopefully one of the FGC guys down under!
