What's new
Anyone know what I need to go from the "The three-row DB15 pin interface is not a high-resolution VGA, a low-resolution RGBS signal, and a direct output of the RGBS signal of JAMMA" of the CBOX to be able to use a Compaq V700 17" CRT (actually measures 16" inch) SVGA monitor?

Sorry I know a total noob question.

I have the OSSC but that only outputs to HDMI and I do not currently own any arcade CRTs.

Thanks,
VWI

Since you already have an OSSC, consider an HDMI to VGA DAC:

Tendak Active 1080P Female HDMI... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B7CEOVK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I think that it would need to have a female 15 ping connector on it. That is to go from HDMI to SVGA on the CRT if I understand you right to use this.

Maybe something more like this?

Thought I would post some pictures of the CBOX running with the Euro SCART on OSSC with a laptop LCD mod board.
Was hoping to run it on my CRT but need more adapters.
This is my fist PCB Arcade game Commando guess this begins yet another addiction ;) or would that be in INSANITY :)

You can use the scart cable & plug otherwise you need to build a cable. I used a VGA breakout cable https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Coax-RGBHV-Monitor-Cable/dp/B0033AF5Y0 and SCART breakout https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/sony-pvm-scart-converter-bnc

From there there's a switch on axunworks that you can set for the output sync to be csync or hv sync. Set to csync and wire the h sync cable I believe it is up to the sync wire on your scart bnc. I use this setup for wiring scart into the Retro Scaler A1

https://irkenlabs.com/retro-scaler-a1/introduction

If you have a 31khz crt you can just plug cbox into the scaler, set it to TTL sync and set the cbox to hv sync. I've had no drops and it switches upscaling 15khz or passing 24khz/31khz fine. This should at least get 15khz & 31khz content displaying on your crt. All this setup requires is an extra vga cable and a usb cable to power the scaler.

The SCART cable? My SVGA monitor has the 15pin DSUB and my OSSC only has HDMI output.
Sorry so I am confused.
I believe my only option other than the Irkenlabs is this:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B082VYRXBJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A1S0XLXFYJW9JA&psc=1
Then i can go from the OSSC to the monitor and it will sync correctly also.
I am in the U.S. probably should have put that in my first posting I know that has a large effect on components.

With the retro scaler a1 you do not need to use the OSSC. Basically you set the CBOX to HV direct for the sync signal and plug the DB15 out of the CBOX into the retro scaler a1 and then the retro scaler a1 into your crt. This will upscale all 15khz boards to 31khz over a DB15.

AXUNWORKSHOP CBOX JVS/JAMMMA SUPERGUN INSTRUCTION MANUAL:

Controller Inputs:
x2 Sega Saturn
x2 Sigma
x2 DB15 Neo-Geo (support 6 buttons)

VIDEO/AUDIO OUTPUTS:
DB15 pin interface is 15kHz and a direct output of the RGBS signal of JAMMA.
The 8P interface is the same as the RGB interface of NEOGEO, but it supports stereo. 8pin to EU-SCART (RGB)
RGB impedance can be set in 4 modes: pass-through, 75 ohm, 150 ohm, 75 + 150 ohm (now it has been changed to 0-500 ohm linear adjustment)
Stereo RCA Output (Recommended to set it in mono, because most types of JAMMA PCB are mono)
(In mono mode, the red and white RCA output ports also have sound.)

CORRECTION POTS:
The Correction knob adjusts the phase delay of the synchronization signal.
It moves the image up and down or left and right to center the image.

POWER:
AC INPUT: 100-240v
ADJUSTABLE 5v and 3v for picky JAMMA boards

JVS CONTROL and POWER:
The JVS-USB interface is used to control the JVS host. It can control JVS hosts such as (TESTED) SEGA NAOMI 1, SEGA NAOMI 2, RINGEDGE 1, RINGEDGE 2, Namco 246/256, Taito Type X1 , Taito Type X2, etc.
12-hole JVS power output, including negative 5V, 3.3V, 5V, 12V (CBOX can power Naomi 1/2, Namco 246/256 with custom harness)

6 BUTTON CONTROL JVS/JAMMA:
JVS 6 button is built in.
The external 456 or KICK HARNESS is used to connect some 6-key games such as STV, CPS1, CPS2, CPS3 and so on. (KICK HARNESS wiring is required.)
Kick harness switch for quick Enable/Disable
Customization 6 button mapping (Refer to CUSTOM MAPPING SECTION)

CONTROLLER CONFIG:
USING the LAYOUT BUTTON: (Refer to picture #1)
NORM = is standard CAPCOM 6 button
SNK = is standard SNK layout
STG = is standard SHUMPS(Shooting Game) Mode (The above three buttons can be set continuously. But the following three buttons cannot be continuous.
Because some shooting games need to hold down to store energy.)

USING the ANGLE BUTTON: (Refer to picture #1)
NORM = Standard (Clockwise) Up , Right, Down, Left
90°
180°
270°
(This is helpful for games that rotate screen but you cannot rotate your screen)

CUSTOM MAPPING:
HOLD the LAYOUT BUTTON for 3 seconds.
All six lights will be on, this is entering CUSTOM MODE
At this time you need to press the buttons 1-6 to your desired layout.
Press the LAYOUT BUTTON again to to exit CUSTOM MODE.
IF you want to set Player 2(2P), you also need to complere the button setting 1-6 during the CUSTOM MODE.

CONTINUOS SWITCHES aka (RAPID FIRE)
Flip switch 1 for RAPID FIRE on Button 1
Flip switch 2 for RAPID FIRE on Button 2
Flip switch 3 for RAPID FIRE on Button 3

I'm still waiting on the upgrade for the custom button mapping. It's been a while now since we've heard any updates about it.

actually i was going to send all the chips to a few people in areas. Like 1 guy in USA and 1 guy in EUR and 1 in AUS
then they send the chips out to people in that area.
but the guy i spoke to in USA disappeared.

1. Everyone that needs a CUSTOM MAPPING eprom Please POST HERE
2. I Need volunteers in USA, EUR and AUS to send to people in those areas.

because shipping from china is expensive even for small little items...

EU REP: Braintrash

I can help with that for EU.
I can help with that for EU.
REALLY? Where are you located?
So basically we will get a count for EU then i will send you ALL the chips, you will then be in charge of sending to all the people in EU but make them pay for shipping.

No problem, I am located in France.

I plan anyway to do a full French review of the CBox, so, that will be easier for people to have me as a central point in Europa.

OK Braintrash you are the EU REP.

PLEASE ANYONE THAT BOUGHT THE OLD VERSION OF THE CBOX, sign up for the list for the new eprom for CUSTOM BUTTON MAPPINGS and mention your location!

I was one of the first on the list . Do I need something new? Also I have a slight issue with the earth that’s giving me a good shock on the system . Love it still everyday @drfunk2k I’m from the Netherlands.
