Better molded than printed - what sort of plastic parts are we missing in this hobby?

Agreed on all points. I don't have a resin printer that uses lasers and pre-heats, I just have an Elegoo Saturn Ultra 4 which is just about as basic of an SLA printer as you can get. Works nice for what I use it for, but that's also not business.

I reached out to that seller on eBay and we're going to figure out a time to meet this weekend. Thanks for pointing them out! With all the extras it's a solid deal for sure.

Thank you so much, I'll be sure to start pouring over them soon. Bummed about the industrial machine not being worth the extra right now, and I hope to find some sort of solution in the 5 ounce range down the road, but just over 2.7 should do for a lot of stuff. Hopefully find enough work to pay myself back for the machinery and then I can consider how to go bigger after that.

I'm genuinely excited though, it's been a while since I've felt passionate about a project! Need to bust out the welder and make a bigger rotocasting setup in the coming weeks as well. I have a very big toy I want to reproduce part of since mine's messed up.

Add me to the list. Hell, the Neo 25/29 bezels are even more brittle and could surely use a more durable replacement.

Metal would be nice, honestly LOL.

Sick, I just looked out of curiosity, glad it was helpful. Also, uh, if you just search for "form 3L" on eBay you will get some pretty good results that I will not post here.

Yeah I've had a few chats with my buddies that do metal work, pretty feasible to do but you'd lose a lot of detail/curve if you go that route.
As far as milling it, assuming you mean like CNC the machine time alone would make it obscenely expensive

I did! And this is why some things only make sense in the DIY space. Time doesn't matter if you're not a business. Plus, quality CNCs at home are cheap now. PrintNC can be built in the standard 23x35 bed size for right around $1800. Pick up a few jobs, pays for itself, now you have a free tool that can make any and everything your heart desires (until your heart gets too big and then you need to upgrade).
 
Exciting news on any scale.
Never mind those pesky neo bezels or e2 illumination panels 🤔😉 I reckon every aero owner would jump at the chance of a replacement bezel ,those bloody things crack if you even look at them too hard

These books rule. I "found" them, and also grabbed a physical copy of the second one through the library lending program. Fascinating so far.
 
DDR pad modding is kinda in flux right now. FSRs have gotten more popular somewhat recently which will affect the sensor area quite a bit. You'll probably see FSRs more often on custom/DIY pads, but I imagine a fair amount of real arcade pads will begin to get FSR replacements as well.

Yeah, that's what I'm being told, that even arcades running cabs are moving over to this other method. Ah well. Was a cool idea.

I'm sure there are other parts in that scene that need making.

It occurred to me today while I was perusing the internet that you can also injection mold silicone rubber boots and connector seals and things. Worth keeping in mind!

Oh that's an awesome idea (and incredibly easy since datasheets have dimensions). I didn't think of that but it makes sense! I reached out a bit back to that one French harness seller if they could make an E29 one, but they said some connectors were just no longer available but they could reuse mine and make a new harness.
 
Probably another niche thing, but carrying cases/storage for consolized MVS systems. There was a sorta gym bag with padding for the AES back in the day.

Also, WTH is up with that price range? Are the big bazooka's really that much of a price increase?
