Blast City / Astro City / Astro City 2 / NNC - Restorations

When cleaning my CRTs I usually wiped some of the grease off not realizing what it was for. Added some grease to anode cap area for the Astro, Astro 2, and Blast Last night.

Still need to do the NNC, Aerto Table, Aero City.

I took apart my CRT discharge tool a while back thinking all my cabs had bleeder circuits so I didn't think I needed it anymore. Pretty sure the Aeros will need to be discharged though because I think they lack bleeders.

Ordered an alligator clip wire because I couldn't locate my old ones.
I just ended up buying a BK-44 hv online (for cheap or just look for a deal). It comes with a voltmeter so you know if theres still remnant voltage remaining/discharge

I was looking at em but couldn’t find for less than $135. Maybe I can find a better deal one day.

Where should I apply this grease on my tube?

Just like this one?

It's like a bloody lightsaber. I'm sure those screwdrivers with some wire and a crocodile clip wrapped around work to discharge a monitor but they just make me uncomfortable.

Anyone know the dimensions of the wooden board in an Aero Table? i have tried Aero City, Blast City, Astro City, Astro City 2 and none seem wide enough to fit in the channel without tipping over + most are all too tall (other than the Astro City 2 one I had that is smaller that the AS one)

I know i can measure and cut my own wood but anyone have any info on what that stock Aero Table wooden board for mounting PCBs is like?

Seems like there are top brackets but they are angled so i dont get if thats for securing the top part of the board or what.

I thought maybe the previous owner hammered em down or something I’m not sure though.

I thought they’d be at a 90 degree angle.

I got a reference picture and looks like there are silver beams or brackets that connect to the blue brackets at the top that have been bent. I just don’t understand why they are nearly flush to the cabinet and the screw holes on the bottom of the cabinet are like 4 inches away from where the bracket is.

I guess the bracket protrudes a bit before the channel starts.

Turns out this channel at the bottom that was holding the wooden pcb board was not standard which would explain why none of my wooden boards were the correct thickness to fit in it 😂
