Budget Naomi Analog Sticks

I've been testing these with some Super Scaler games and they work great. @nnap's 3d printed throttle are perfect for these sticks.

Does anyone know of a 3D printed joystick/flightstick with momentary buttons (pictured below) that would fit on a regular joystick shaft?

Are you after just the handle? I would think the DC twin stick would be a good candidate. The actual stick though is just a standard microswitch based design. :(

Yeah, the idea is to find a decent shell with buttons.

I just purchased one of those aliexpress flight sticks and a junk Saturn Virtual On twin stick. I will just be salvaging the handle shells from both and put them on the budget analog sticks.

I will report my findings soon.

I also adjusted the spring .
Using shims to increase the squeeze on the spring has tightened the spring .

This helps with resistance as these sticks are too loose.

Until I find a good replacement spring
It’s just a little on going project ..

For namco assult as it uses micro switch sticks

The sticks need some resistance that’s the issue .

Maybe rubber gromit sticks like Korean sticks
Would be better .

I’m thinking if these could be modified to have a rubber gromit to give resistance.

I will make a loom for this pannel now .
And try with assault ,&
Robotron ..

And some
Other twin stick games ..
Maybe even Virtua on via b

Update on this: the shell seems to fit nicely.

Since the flight stick's shaft is originally hollow to run the wires down through , you need to run the wires adjacently alongside the analog stick's shaft. The buttons' wires are a bit thick so I plan on using 28 AWG. It should fit through the shell's bottom end.

P.S. I recommend putting a some counterweight like sticky tack in the plastic shell to keep the joystick in the neutral position.

I made an acrylic one way restrictor plate for these budget sticks. It's free to anyone who wants it - just cover shipping.
