What's new

Building my first test bench

The harness you linked to has a CPS1 kick harness connector, so you'd need to purchase their additional adapter to use it with your CPS2 boards:

If your purchase both of those from Tops then you'll have what you need, but that's $100 plus shipping for both of them. Ugh.
Yah that seems to be a bit much. This is the connector that came with my Raijin. Is this all I need to run CPS1 boards? For CPS2 boards, I will need to have a kick harness attached to it. The same connector can play both boards right? I just don’t use the kick harness when playing CPS1 boards.

That harness doesn't have any kick harness wired into it so it'll work for any JAMMA game (including CPS1 and CPS2) with up to 4 buttons.

You can fire up and play CPS1 and CPS2 6 button fighting games too - it's just the kick buttons won't work (that's why the 6 button additional connector is called the kick harness).

Oh! ok. So MegaMan will work with it but my street fighter won’t. I though I was missing something because when I first tested my Rockman 1, I put it in my friends assault cabinet which was just a Jamma connector with no kick harness, just to see if it worked. Thanks! Now I still want to get a connector with a kick harness but for now, how do I install an inline volt meter on the connector I already have? Is it just as simple as soldering a few wires?
