I’ve been working on this for quite some time and finally have an initial release ready:

https://github.com/kuzearcade/CPS15_to_CPS2

Note that most of my real hardware testing has been with The Punisher but numerous full game runs have been done start to finish in MAME. I’m opening this up for community testing and will work out any bugs that turn up.

All CPS 1.5 sets are supported and this was put together fresh from the ground up.

Cheers!

Cool stuff. I was looking over the kabuki decryption, its interesting claude is tracing all code paths to handle the decryption (since code is encrypted and data isn't). Seems like that could also be used as an alternate way to deal with suicided mitchell boards (pang, super pang, etc). Put the decrypted roms on the board then swap the kabuki CPU for a standard Z80.

If i add this, can you test on real hardware?
I don't own the physical machine yet,
but this machine is actually a standard arcade machine with the original ROM size.

The official team simply cleaned up obsolete data to make room for new action modes; I didn't notice any changes to the scenarios.

I think basically all that's needed is to rearrange the code|data offset based on wofj.

I have started to work on this. I don't see any obvious booby trap code in the wofch version at the moment, so maybe it's an easy target.
I don't know what the differences are in URA mode compared to arcade version. I'll see if i can add a selection option to easy choose URA or Original mode.

Hmmm sorry if i'm wrong, but the rom wofch.zip is the cps changer version (home version of the cps1) not a hack. Sfzch is cps changer too (lot are undumped :( ) .If i remember right, Razoola start from sfzch vs sfz cps2 to understand the cps2..... long time ago :D

Daimakaimura in cps2 is a dream (make it with ai but the sound.....héhé)

Yeah we need an universal sound porting tool or something to get the cps1 games into cps2. Alternativelt you can always try and buy a CPS1.5 multi ;)

You remember correctly, sfzch helped in the quest to decode cps2, later Andreas Naive did it fully in 2001.
You've probably been around as long as i was when Thierry made s16emu, Emuviews was king and Mame was good for Galaxian and Donkey kong only hehehe.

I looked up why we need WOFCH but it has an extra mode only on changer, you press start+sel to go to the menu and enter a code to unlock it.
This mode is only on the changer and some home ports. I didn't even know changers exist with Q-Sound lol!
