Couple beginner Vewlix C PSU questions; do I really need a step down?

Hi all,

I've done a lot of reading/looking at the schematics in the manual and while I think I'm at the point where I'm reasonably confident on how all this works I'd still like to run it by some people who actually know what they're doing before I get something wrong, return my step down, and end up damaging my cab.

I'm currently running a Vewlix C with a non-stock monitor, a TTX3, and FastIO.

The PSU in the back of the cabinet is dedicated to the monitor. Since I'm no longer using the stock monitor with the 24v Z to B2/B3 power and instead am using a monitor that just plugs in, my understanding is that I can just unplug A1, remove that PSU entirely, and reclaim that space (and I suppose give the PSU to anyone around the Boston area who might be interested; not sure if there's any demand for these?).

Similarly, as I am using a TTX3 as opposed to something like a SEGA NAOMI, I have no need for the Wei-Ya 12v PSU. This specific PSU is notorious for really wanting _exactly_ 100v and as such when people say you "want a step down for your Vewlix" this is the specific part they're talking about. With my setup, I can get rid of this PSU (or, again, donate to anyone in the Boston area who might want it).

The remaining 12v PSU is powering my FastIO, LED, exhaust fan and audio. This PSU also expects 100v, but as it's not nearly as temperamental as the Wei-Ya it's not nearly as big of a deal. While I do need a 12v PSU for input/lights/audio/fan, this can be replaced with a Mean Well LPS-75-12 PSU with zero modifications necessary - it would just mount right in place and I'd plug the Vewlix B connector right into CN2 on the Mean Well.

EDIT 2: After some more digging it appears that this 12v PSU is a Densei Lambda scb126c, which is an older model as this company is now TDK Lambda. It looks like the current version of this (and, potentially, a higher quality drop-in replacement than the Mean Well) would be the VS75E-12 which has an input rating of 85-132 VAC. I'm not having any luck finding any documentation on the scb126c - would it be a safe assumption, or is there any existing community knowledge, that this would have the same rating?

Am I correct on the above, or are there any errors or important omissions? Does the step down really matter for that remaining 12v, at which point would it not make more sense to just return the heavy, bulky $50 step down converter and instead spend $20 on the drop-in-place PSU replacement? Does anyone who lives in the Boston area want my old crap?

EDIT: One further question - what's the procedure to safely discharge these PSUs? I'm only familiar with doing so with PC PSUs and holding the power switch which isn't applicable here.

If you're replacing the remaining PSU with a modern universal input unit, I don't see much reason to keep the step down. Just make sure the replacement can comfortably handle the cabinet's load and double check the pinout before plugging it in.
