All the official announcements for the CPS3 Multi BIOS and CDs will be done here.

The files need to be converted to CHD in order to be played on MAME. Those CDs are ready to be played from the Real Arcade CPS3 setup. You need to have the Multi BIOS installed in your CPS3 cartridge.

If you also got the CPU in your cartridge changed then you need the HD6417095 version. If you just got your cartridge BIOS changed, then you need the custom.

*****NEW BIOS - UPDATED January 9th 2021****

New UltraBIOS released January 6th 2021. It fixes previous problems with joystick speed in menu and other few glitches but the most important feature is that it adds support for the NEW UltraSimm. This BIOS is still 100% compatible with the old one. You have a version for CD and another for NOCD. There are 2 versions. One that will only work with carts that have a STANDARD SH2 and another with carts that have a custom SH2. Be sure to grab the right one.

Nope. But will do sometime in the future. I have other priorities now :)

You will need to download the bios file. If you are only changing the bios then ou download the "custom" version. Then you remove the flash chip inside the dead cart and reprogram it with the new bios file and reinstall. If you aren't good with surface mount soldering then let someone who is do it for you.

Remember that you will need four 128mb simms and two 64mb simms in order to use the SuperBIOS. It's the same amount of memory needed for Third Strike.
 
It is the 29F400 chip. It is a TSOP 44 chip.
 
You can just reprogram the flash that's in there now.

I think you need cut a trace and add new one (with a tiny cable). Maybe someone that has done it in the past, can shed some light here...
 
I would just wait for another 64.

Hi! I just received the darksoft repro cart for my Street Fighter III 3rd Strike. When I boot it up with the Darksoft cartridge and my original 3rd strike CD I freeze at the region select. So, I downloaded the images above and booted with these. These images work great however, they load up 2nd impact.

Is there somewhere I can get an image of 3rd strike? Or....a way to get past the region select freeze on my original 3rd Strike CD?

Instructions will appear on screen as to how to select a different game.

Once you've chosen a different game to boot, that will be the game that boots automatically the next time you turn on your CPS3.
 
On start it says clearly PRESS 1P TO ENTER DARKSOFT MENU. There you can rewrite a new game.
