So I've had the luck to find a CRT locally with a Blast City Tube, Model A68KZN696X, and I'm pretty sure that the Tube is compatible with the Chassis I bought, the Sanwa KW0606A.
So this would be my first attempt at an Arcade setup, so as a starter I don't really have the basics of cross tube compatibility. From what I've researched, the New Net City uses a flat microfilter Tube by Toshiba, as much as I'd like to see that in action I'd be happy trying out my curved Tube.

So I wanted to confirm that I can use the Blast City Tube, Model A68KZN696X with my KW0606A, as long as I can find a matching Yoke. Is this correct?
The info below shows a similar Tube to mine, but, I'd guess my Yoke may have different requirements. Is there a method to figure out that type of info, or just research on the webs?

There's a MS-2930 yoke for the A68KZN696X on Yaton's website, I'd buy it but not sure if the KW0606A requires a different yoke.

I'm not sure you will find a PFX compatible yoke for that tube. The MS-2930 yoke will not work. PFX needs a 0.300 mH horizontal yoke (MS-2930 is 0.19mH as above).

You could get that tube and then the yoke and install a MS-293X chassis on it though?

Ya that's the trouble, would the type of yoke I need for the Blast curved Tube require the same inductance? I mean, I may be able to find a curved HDTV Toshiba with low mH but, it'd be a pretty low possibility.
Quite possibly easier just to sell the KW0606A and buy an MS-293x, but, I'd hope to refurb the KW0606A (it's untested) so the value is diminished without a testable tube. Well whichever I can find in the first will win, a PFX HDTV or possible Yoke from a curved Toshiba HDTV.

There's a flat screen Panasonic Tau nearby me that has a compatible tube, but the yoke (E59373) doesn't seem to be. Any know how of getting a proper yoke to start this project?

Back up a minute--is the A68KZN696X you bought in a consumer TV, or was it pulled from an existing arcade machine? If it's in a TV, have you measured the actual inductance of the yoke yet?

I still use the Consumer Set, as it's terrific.. so I'd be fine with a flat screen. That said, if my yoke is usable for the KW0606A, I'd probably use the set for both an Arcade cab and Consumer set (Model Grundig E72-911 TOP). I measured the H/V Windings and came up with 7.2 ohms and 1.5 ohms. I think the Vertical might be too high for it, but the H is close. Is a 0.7ohm difference too much on the V? Not sure how to measure mH really.

You need to measure inductance using a special meter. I have one of these and it's good enough: https://www.amazon.com/Proster-Mult...ctance/dp/B071WNNYQT/135-5805257-5903460?th=1

Not sure what yoke you want to use for the flat tube but it's extremely difficult to bolt up a yoke that's not designed for the specific tube geometry and get a decent image. I've done it but it can sometimes take dozens of hours of tweaking and sometimes you just have to cut your losses and accept it's not working.

Thanks for the link, I'll probably pick one up since my Toshiba tube is within an Ohm on both V/H it's probably OK to use. I've been searching the forums for yoke models that can be used for a flat tube in NNC and found that the 29E31S Sanwa chassis has a compatible yoke, and some Taobao model coined an 'XV5', but nothing in the searches bring up anything for sale.

Resistance readings mean very little when it comes to "will it blow up my chassis?". Need to measure inductance, I can't stress this enough.

FYI no flat tube is the same. I have done dozens of yoke swaps to bodge together monitors and different models of tubes have different rear curvatures, slightly different deflection angles, etc. which can make them tricky to swap. You need a yoke and tube that are designed for each other, otherwise you will be tweaking for hours upon hours and may never get good purity or convergence.

What is the model of flat tube you are trying to use?

I spawned the idea of getting a replacement tube from an older post that used a A68QCU770X (Panasonic) from a Tau, combined with a 'XV5' yoke from Taobao, apparently that match was about a 90% success, which I could live with.
I realize inductance is the most important thing, just hoping there was some more compatibility across yokes to flats but doesn't look good. I may wait until I see an HDTV flat, I've heard their yokes are lower inductance and more likely to match.
Maybe I'll luck out though with the Toshiba, it's a gorgeous tube anyway and ultimately I just want to test the KW0606A and make a decision if it's worth keeping.

So the LCR meter came in, and unfortunately it'll be too high I'd say. I've got 17.6mH and 1.4mH. Maybe it's easier to find a chassis with these specs for the yoke, instead of the other way around.
