Darksoft CPS2 Trouble in New Zealand

Is that corrosive flux? I’ve never seen the residue be powder white
 
It could be an issue with the multi but to me it looks more an issue with the B Board. Try that test romset and for now keep testing only games that the key file has values 0xFFFFFFF only.

How to I get the test romset?and not sure how to find 0xffffff only

Before loading a game, check the content of the file called "key" that is located inside the folder of that game. Open it with an hex editor and you will see only 0xFFFFFF

I'm a bit confused about test roms I loaded up the 2 folders 01010101 and 10101010 they both loaded up and I got a purple screen not sure I did this right. I also started checking all the roms although most of them are garbled graphics there was a few that play fine. Not sure what this 20221023_210853.jpg20221020_194015.jpgmeans.

You have to look at the LCD. It will say VERIFY OK or ERROR. I believe it will say VERIFY OK and the problem is in your setup somewhere else that we didnt think of yet.
 
Can you try the test now with your other cps-2 motherboard. Also trying the games that work and don’t work to see if you get the same results?

I believe he has garbled video on the ‘good’ board with most games. Some games run ok though. The bad board is just black/purple
 
So is this a problem with the multi? Seem strange it plays a couple of games fine but the rest are garbled graphics. I'm running out of things to try
 
Maybe you can send it to someone in AU that can have a look at it. I would hate to have it send it 15.000 km back to me.

Can’t it also be the A or B board in that games that does not use all aspects of the board function but games utilising more have this problem?

If you have any friends with known working cps2 multi you can try their A board to rule the A board out. The B board is a bit harder. I second Darksofts suggestion to send it to someone for help. Maybe @djsheep can assist for a small donation?
