The rubber wedges went bad in my 1084S-P (same as CM8833 ((not CM8833-II or 1084S-P1)), and corroded the yoke beyond repair.

Does anyone have a parts 1084S I could buy the yoke from? I know people like to use these versatile monitors for arcade purposes sometimes.
Preferably something with a bad tube for obvious reasons, but I'm also willing to steal from a parts monitor (sacrifice one faulty monitor to save three by parting out? worth it).

I'm in New Zealand. Would need shipping price and pics of the underside where the wedges were.

Thanks!

I wonder how special the yoke is in these? The tube in my CM8833 is a 14" Philips (M34). I bet you could find a compatible yoke in a computer monitor or even a TV.

I have a new yoke from a Samsung tube that has similar readings for R and L (not exact). How exact do you think the R and L need to be?

Not sure! Horizontal I suspect you would want to be pretty close (10-20% difference, maybe?), vertical likely wouldn't matter that much.

What are your impedance readings?

I don't have the readings for a working CM8833 yoke, but I do for a CM8833-II yoke which is similar but not exact compared to a CM8833.

Samsung yoke
4 windings in parallel (two pairs)
each of the four wires are 8.6 Ω, 2.5 mH
each pair is 4.3 Ω, 2.5 mH
total H yoke is 2.15 Ω, 1.9 mH

V yoke is 13.9 Ω, 23.3 mH

Philips yoke (CM8833-II / 1084S-P1)
5 or 6 windings in parallel (didn't take apart)
total H yoke is 2.4 Ω, 1.9 mH

V yoke is 12.3 Ω, 27.3 mH

That sounds fine.

You don't happen to have the tube too? It's not the same size is it? Compatible neck?

I don't have the Samsung tube, but yes the Samsung yoke fits the Philips tube snug.
I have a choice of the original rings and the Samsung rings.

I just measured my CM8833 and I got

Lh 1.88 mH
Lv 30.2 mH
Rh 2.3 ohms
Rv 12.0 ohms

I think it's close enough.

Good stuff.
Wonder is the way it's wound will make much difference. Also will be my first time doing convergence from scratch lol
