Does Anyone Own a Gundhara PCB?

Excellent progress. Hopefully things get easier from here & also hopefully Cadash works out.

I'm pretty close to throwing in the towel on Cadash, it's definitely not worth the effort I've put in thus far that has taken too much away from other more useful Work; and I'm no closer to getting it working. Had I not spent the time on that that I did this Seta multi would be released already and I'd be working on the next multi project. Instead Asuka Multi is still unreleased, and Seta Multi is only half done.

Problem solving skills gained are never wasted.
It may seem like a waste now but I bet it helps later indirectly.

@twistedsymphony did you end up getting the information you needed (as mentioned in Post 38 of this thread) to use Rezon as a donor for your Seta Multi? If not, I have a Rezon board on its way in the mail and I can do any diagnosing you need with it. Obviously I'm really hoping this board can eventually be used as a Multi donor! :D

unfortunately Rezon is not, nor will it not likely ever be a multi donor. the PCB is a different configuration from the other games. and missing parts of the graphics area that other games need. it's also got it's ROMs in completely different locations on the PCB meaning that the pins for the multi that works with the other games wouldn't work with Rezon.

the information I was seeking wasn't to make Rezon a donor it was to allow it to be played on the other donors.

I hope you didn't buy this just to be a multi donor. I did list out the suitable donor boards here:
Confirmed Donor Boards:
  • PO-078A (used by Blandia)
  • PO-079A (used by Eight Forces and Zing Zing Zip)
  • PO-122A (used by Zombie Raid)

Potential Donor Boards (theorize they'd work but have not confirmed)
  • PO-122B (used by Zombie Raid) <- a slight variation on the other board, I have one to test/confirm
  • PO-092A (used by Daioh)
  • PO-072-2 (used by Prototypes) <- doubt anyone will use this due to rarity
  • PO-120A (used by Gundhra) <- doubt anyone will use this due to rarity
  • 93111A (used by War of Aero and JJ Squawkers) <- doubt anyone will use this due to rarity

I hope 122-B works.
So 122-A and 122-B are nearly identical except for the ROM sockets for the Audio ROMs
they messed up the routing on 122-A and the address pins for the socket are all off by 1, that's why it uses a Sub-board for the Audio ROMs. they fixed it in 122-B
but that means I have to find a way to support 2 different pin configurations in order to support both boards.

I've not found a non-complicated way to do this in hardware so most likely options are a giant bank of 20 solderable jumpers or 2-solderable jumpers and unique audio ROMs for each board version.

All good - thanks for clearly stating that Rezon isn't a suitable donor for this Multi. I think @djsheep and some others were thinking it could be used as well. I'll keep looking for one of the suitable donors and will enjoy Rezon in the meantime. Thank you!
