Hey all

We've just updated our pages on itch.io, and that includes the Double Dragon One page. The ROM of the complete game is now available for free download from:
https://ozzyouzo.itch.io/double-dragon
Just like our very first game, The Eye of Typhoon - Tsunami Edition:
https://ozzyouzo.itch.io/teot
You'll also find the new pages for Bad Dudes, with a fairly well advanced demo that allows you to play the first two levels
https://ozzyouzo.itch.io/bad-dudes
and one for In The Hunt, with, in its case a demo showing very early work.
https://ozzyouzo.itch.io/inthehunt
So, once again, we're offering a complete game, the development of which we carried out from start to finish without asking anyone for a single cent of funding - and with an asking price of $0.

Of course, we still hope "the community" will appreciate the effort and be willing to support us in return, and we want to thank again those of you who already have, one way or another!

So if anyone wants to encourage our work, there are many ways to do so:
  • The most obvious way is to make a donation via itch. This can be done with any ROM download (not necessarily the first one, on a blind basis); you are therefore free to decide to give nothing, a little, or more, depending on your budget and how much you value the work done. You can do this for any of the projects, either to reward a completed game, or to show your interest in one that is in progress. You will see a "goal" on each page, which is there more to provide a transparent overview of the donations collected than anything else; no formal commitment is associated with it, even if we promise you at least one other full game if the funds raised are significant.
  • An alternative to the coin in the hat is simply to buy one of our paid games. The Cyborg Force and Captain Barrel ROMs will be on sale @ 50% off to download from itch from Sept 1st till the end of the year. For those allergic to digital content, I've also opened a pop-up store in the marketplace section, where I'm offering - exceptionally - physical copies of those games. Again, you can find stuff at all prices, from little CDs to big carts. Yes, these are all that will be on offer for now... :)
  • Finally, if it's not the will to help that's lacking, but money, you can simply promote us by sharing messages, links, and information wherever and however you want.

Thanks, have fun!

Thanks for your hard work and for sharing!
It would be great if you could optimize the ROMs to fit in a progbk1 in 2MB banks for audio, so people can make their own copies on hardware.
Otherwise those who don't have the multicart will end up buying it on aliexpress.
I know it's hard work though, so thanks again for sharing it for free.

Mmmh - that's not a request we expected. Not making any promises on this tbh! :)

Cheers

Great stuff. Thanks for bringing the digital versions to us. Can anyone tell here if the games are working on a BackBit cartridge? Iam relatively new to the NeoGeo party so i haven´t one of the older ones (Darksoft, NeoSD). If it is working you can count on my money.

Hmm - you might run into problems on the Backbit. However, it's possible to download and try the game for free, then donate later if it works OK on whatever device you want to run it on, and you feel like it :)
Thanks a lot

Added and supported by FB Neo. Thanks for your hard work and for sharing !!!

Hey @Jobnny16bit, which of the double dragon Neo roms works on the Darksoft cart now?
The demo download had a darksoft specific rom. Is that still coming or can we just use one of the other formats? Sorry if it’s already been asked.

Thanks a lot

I started with testing and can confirm that the following works fine with the BackBit Cartridge. I donated for the demos but the target is far far away. Hopefully a full game see the light of the day in future...

Edit 09/05/25:

- Bad Dudes (NeoGeo-rom version)
- In the Hunt (NeoGeo-rom version)

hi @Johnny16bit after a lot of testing DD One seems its have some big problem running on real hardware using original board, i dont know if the same problem occur on flash cart but could be.
Some one can check it, i dont have.
Game work fine till level 3:

On this stage game become all green, i tested it on MV1C, MV1FZ and MV2F, its work fine only on MV1C but with a weird purple bar.
Used CHA256, CHA512Y and 27c160 27c322 for c roms.
I hope that can help to fix it.

Hey dude

Thanks for the detailed info, seems to match previous reports we got (although that purple bar is new and could be flat screen related).
This occurs on original PCBs ; game otherwise works fine on flashcart / aftermarket / emulation devices.

cheers
