I got a Fixeight PCB off YAJ that was shown as fully working. When I received it, it only boots to garbage or a black screen: That image moves for a bit then freezes. Volume pot gives feedback during this but no sound/credit. Test button does nothing. This is tested on 2 different cabs. I noticed the ceramic custom HK-1000 had a crack but from what I've seen this doesn't stop the game from booting.
Sent the game to a trusted repairer (Ken @ Irepairsega) and he said the game was working fine on his bench. Replaced the HK-1000 as nothing else seemed to be wrong and was tested fully working for him (before and after the custom was replaced).
Received the game back and I'm still getting the same stuck/no boot symptoms on 2 different cabs, adjusted voltages etc. The only common link is both cabs are MS9 monitors but that shouldn't cause a boot issue. Other PCBs of the same architecture work fine on these cabs (V-V, Batsugun). Any ideas for this weird behavior?
