I've been working on various game room signs for myself and others recently:

High res images of the above can be viewed in [this] gallery.

Signs are made from high quality cast acrylic. The backs are typically 5mm with 3mm detailing on the front.

Parts are bonded with industry standard 3M sheet adhesives and are laser cut along with the parts. This results in 100% adhesive coverage and zero mess, no cheap messy glues used here.

I'm currently offering artwork/signs either standard or with skirt lit LEDs. I'm currently using COB LED strips or high density WS2812B RGB LED. COB strips can be single or two+ tone.

Example of skirt lit sign:

Aluminum foil/tape is applied to eradicate any unsightly light bleed through to the front and fully reflects the light back to the wall. The LEDs are mounted to thick high quality aluminium section to dissipate any heat from the LEDs and to increase their longevity.

To power single signs I've been using USB C (or USB A > C) PSUs and cables. One sign typically pulls 5-7w so can be ran from a ~2A charger/PSU.

Depending on preference, gaps are can be added to the aluminum section to route the power cable from the left, bottom or right etc.

PSU dependent, up to two signs can be ran from one USB C port as long as you do not exceed 3A/15w. I've made daisy chainable adapters for this purpose:

Single mode:

Daisy chained to second sign with XT30 cable:

It's possible to link many signs together if you use a separate 5V PSU with enough amps to cover the whole series of signs. In this case the USB connector is not used and the high power PSU connects directly to opne of the XT30 connectors:

For RGB signs I've used a couple of WS2812B Bluetooth/WIFI controllers that come with a remote control for basic functions and can also be controlled via an app:

Smaller signs can be hung using the supplied and fitted basic hangers:

I've made a couple of custom mounts, one 280mm wide and one 420mm wide to mount the larger signs.

All signs are supplied with a 2mm MDF drilling template to precisely mark and drill the holes for the included 6x30mm Fisher DuoPower wall plugs and pan head screws. There are alignment notches on the template and a reference dimension to the top of the sign.

I'll add a link to an order form once complete. Prices depend on sign size, complexity, lighting/power/linking and other options.

Aha, so this was your top secret plan in the works huh, nice!! Which controllers will you be using exactly? Bonus points if they can be integrated in Home Assistant :D

Cheers bud. This was semi-secret plan #2 of [REDACTED] ;)

The controllers I got were meant to be supported by various devices but it was LIES. I'm going to look at some others.

Okay, those all super dope! Very, very cool @FrancoB
Dood, these are so freaking cool. Beautiful work as always man.
will be following this, man these look sweet!

Cheers guys! I'm really happy with how they've come out and it's been good fun learning some new skills along the way.

Really hoping shipping to Australia isn't going to be insane...

From experience from shipping larger items like marquee holders in the past, Aus has always been pretty expensive to ship to. Things might have changed but it might be for the worse X/ Once I've got a couplepackaged up I can get some approx prices. Another option that has worked in the past has been to ship one larger order to one person to then distribute locally.

I'm looking forward to seeing these in person on Saturday & of course FrancoB too its been a while.

I've got a couple to drop off for people so they might be willing to unwrap them ^^ But yeah, certainly been a while! Probably not seen you since the first or second Replay in Blackpool which would make it 2010/2011 ?! Looking forward to the meet for sure!

I would love to have these at my arcade! im ready to order! fantastic work @FrancoB !

Awesome 8) I'm going to put a simple Google form together to collect info, I'll post a link to it here as soon as it's done.

Cheers all!

@FrancoB
I would buy a sign with this image in a heartbeat… pink lights in the background maybe? Or neon green? hint, hint, nudge, nudge…

Love it! That would indeed look fantastic. I'm more than happy to work on custom stuff, that's where the fun is ^^

I do have some brushed stainless effect acrylic in stock currently, it might be a little dark but there are other silver options I can get. I've got a swatch of about 120 colours/tints/mirrors/frosts etc at the moment. Once the form is up you can fill in some basic details and we can discuss via email

bros @FrancoB … the “Game Station” sign looks fantastic 🫶🏻 I migh get a sign too … need only to measure the places where i can put , to see if can fit there 🙏🏻

No problem buddy. I can offer them in different sizes, just let me know what size you have to work with and we can go from there. I've done CAD mockups of rooms/areas for people so we can work out the optimum size signs to fit the space.

Just to get a thought down whilst its in my head, something like this might look good if you wanted both.... MS Paint skillz ahoy!

i-Q4Zkw6c-S.png

Green LEDs on the top/bottom that curve round the edge and two pink strips on the sides.
Now that is a good idea.

Although I'm more of a Capcom fanboy generally, I've always loved the 100 Mega Shock logo!
