I owe absolutely no one an explanation for the radio silence since my last update, but this comment I’m replying to is so foot-in-mouth I’m going to give you a peek behind the curtain.

Ya’ll waited months while I allegedly ignored you, but behind the scenes I’ve been involved in a brutal custody battle for two of my four kids, and have been rebuilding my relationship with them after nearly 18 months of parental alienation and custodial interference.

I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve logged in here in that time frame.. and it’s usually just to provide proof of life in this thread.

The final court hearing happens early next month, and then maybe I can finally get back to a new level of normal and productivity here.

I’ve turtled so hard because of this that beyond industry obligations I have not had a day of vacation or hung out with non-family adults in nearly a year.

Sometimes real life and family is more important than video games.

The year in review, while I haven’t had as public a presence, has been a busy one in the arcade world:

*managed worldwide logistics and stateside assembly of the first run of the Octopus fight stick for @hursit and TR Fightstick
*doubled my event vending loadout and planned the worlds largest pop up Japanese arcade for Evo with Game Saru and 100YenLife

It’s been insanity, but it’s been worth it.

In other news…

The moratorium on custom, one-off harnesses and wiring solutions remains in effect.

My semi-professional goals for the year:

*Online store front
*reconnect with people here (specifically)
*Open a brick-and-mortar arcade
*vend more events

I keep saying that I need a website/online store, but now that has become a dire necessity. Expect that to happen this year.

I’m sorry for the silence fam.. but sometimes there’s a reason for it 😔🙃

Ohh man, sorry to hear that. I really hope that you can get the custody and get some good family time with your kids. I'm sure they want that too.

I should have had the foresight to understand that you were advertising a service and that your "radio silence" shouldnt be taken as ignores (read my dms) while i have the utmost sympathy for your situation, i appreciate the prompt response to my foot and mouth comment. I guess thats one way to get your attention.

100% this. We’re all lucky to have you in any capacity. life > hobby.

You’ve kept this stuff really close to the chest! Even with all our interactions online lately I had no idea you were dealing with life stuff. I hope everything smoothes out for you and things get back to some kind of normalcy.

Ps. LOL at the backhanded comment. Dude learned a life skill and came to throw shade at you for it. 🤡

Batman doesn’t tell people what’s happening under the mask.

But I’m not Batman.

Before I posted I talked it over with Lady Vengeance.. she told me that I was right, I owed zero explanation *and* I shouldn’t let people see inside. But I was also the master of my own life and she understood why I would say anything.

I truly love the home arcade world. I’ve known people like darksoft, opt2not, mitsurugiW and many many of the old guys here for nearly 15 years, all of those years doing what I do: making stuff and selling it for razor thin margins to keep things affordable. Money isn’t important, it’s keeping people playing that is to me.

Regardless, I love you all. I mean it! I just needed to focus my attention where it matters the most for a bit.

Anyway, the backlog of requests will be slowly parsed. You’ll likely get a DM from me sometime down line asking if you still need something. If you don’t, feel free to shoo me a me away 😅
