trying to build a server box. I have the correct Ring edge board with key and hard drive which boots up to the server. I have the I/o board as well but I'm trying to figure out the router, network switch situation and wiring.

if anyone can take pictures of their setup that would be amazing. thanks

How many cabs do you have? If you just have two, connect both cabs and the terminal to the router.

I have 2 cabs, my server board boots up to this image. do I just need a router / network switch and connect all 3 together?

Router, yes.

For the record I have the official Sega router, but from what I've understood any router should work.

Finished wiring up my cabinets last night.

First make sure DHCP is enabled on player 1, 2 and server unit.
Buy the router GL.iNet GL-MT3000 and go into its settings and set the Ip address to 192.168.37.*
the router does not have enough LAN ports so I bought a switch TP-Link TL-SG105
make sure player 1 and 2 are set to A1 and A2
I added a picture on how its suppose to be wired up. basically connect all ringedge boards to the switch and the router to the switch. simple.

I technically built my server box...
