Just found the forum, and also just dipping my toes in the waters of arcade. Making a custom bar top arcade cabinet for a friend as a house warming gift. Have the cabinet fully designed and will be cutting the pieces in the next few days. Waiting on some fans, the power inlet, and the power bar I picked for the cabinet. Only thing I've got left to do is design some marquee art and come up with a name for the machine (which may tie in to the marquee art)

It's silly, but one of my favourite things I've done so far is custom design a coin slot that is a USB port. I've attached a picture of the cabinet and the coin slots.

Really been enjoying this project and already have plans to build a full sized cabinet for my house down the road.

Those coin slots are super cool! Be careful the arcade world is a slippery slope. I started with a mame, lcd, 3/4 scale cab, its buried in the garage now.

Yeah, I've already plans to build a much larger cabinet for the house for my family and I to enjoy. Always wanted a full sized cabinet, so why not just build one, right? :D

I'm so happy with how the coin slots turned out! Next I'm going to print them in translucent red and maybe I'll backlight them :D

Do it and share your progress here, I'd love to check it out. You absolutely should backlight them!

Got my resin printer set up and reprinted the coin slot returns in transparent red. They look sick!

Got most of the arcade cut out, just the front panel and control panel left to cut then I can assemble the whole thing. So far it's going pretty smooth, just taking me a while as I can only do so much cutting/sanding at a time due to chronic pain.

This project is mostly upcycled from stuff I had around the house. Old coffee table and bookshelf make up the cabinet. An old laptop is the guts. Any extra parts I need I've been designing and 3d printing.

So, here's the finished mini cabinet. Gifted it to my friend last night and he absolutely loved it. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

Tapper art is temporary, and mostly a joke as it's going on his bar.
