How old is your CPS2 battery?

I’m sure you guys are correct about the original batteries versus modern ones however, one thing to consider is that the original ones were in arcade machines that were on many hours a day not requiring the battery to charge the board so I wonder if that just saved the batteries Longer than modern ones which are in your home board that probably gets to play once in a while.
Yes, i agree, it makes sense. In my case they were not played even once since the batteries were swapped.

I would also like to add there is still a quality issue with these batteries. All the boards were under the same usage/storage conditions so the voltage should have been similar for all them.
