I don't remember how much shipping was but I remember that you cover some of the cost because it was not cheap..I think it was shipped FedEx and yes something happened during shipping but the LCD panel was ok.

Throwing in that shipping you a second Vewlix will cost nothing or almost nothing on your order. Also, I might be interested in some cab internals if you guys are pulling one apart. I'll read up the rest of this thread at some point to catch up. Also, the "white" cab sides I'm pretty sure are relatively yellowed on all the cabs coming in. I'd be really impressed if they weren't, just a heads-up!

I shipped a whole monitor with surround from GA to CA for $200. Used UPS.
I'd be interested in all of the white plastics, including the CP ones.
I wasn't sure if you were just going to let those go with the CP box or not.
I have no idea on value without knowing what they look like since it's strictly a cosmetic upgrade and I'm not actually missing any on mine.
Let me double-check mine, but I think the Vewlix 1P harness is the same as the Egret one. If it is, I need that for sure.

I might be interested in some control panel parts but I haven't had a chance to really go through my cab yet.

Well OK I'll update the main post, but I'll be honest with you, we aren't going to make it to 1500$ with bids offers like that.
I'm paying twice that (400$) for a few leds in a custom metal housing.
I'd say just look at what Taito is charging, but you can't because they aren't selling the access doors PERIOD.
So look at what I spent on a new CP surround instead... 650$ (price plus shipping and currency conversion/bank fees)!

Reasonable means reasonable for everyone involved, yes you can bid/offer 5$ for a part that costs 800$ brand new but don't be surprised when we can't reach our funding goal.

If you know what these pieces are worth and you're going through the hassle of parting out the cab, why not just price everything out separately and then offer it to the folks who have shown interest? Makes a little more sense then trying to push someone into spending more then they want on a part just to meet a goal.
I know how Taito values those parts, but as of right now that $200 is how I value them.
I can tell you that $400 is what it would cost me to buy a large sheet metal brake and some sheet metal and then have the resultant parts powdercoated and I'd honestly RATHER spend the money on that because then it leaves me with a useful tool for making other sheet metal parts.
Also, for all I know the warehouse will find my cab door and I wont need this part out. For all I know these will come in scratched and dented and need to be repaired anyway. And it might cost me another $150 to ship them from wherever the cab ends up being parted out.
There are a lot of unknowns so $200 is what I'm willing to commit, maybe that will change, but that's what it is right now.
He's not doing the cab part-out to get a deal on these parts, he's doing the cab part-out to acquire parts that CANT be purchased new anymore... so the value of those parts is unknown.

Correct, I only know what the parts still available for sale cost brand new from Taito.
These are obviously not brand new, so I don't expect anyone to offer a brand new price.
I don't mean to pressure anyone, its just we have limited time for this deal.
All the above people need to split up is the price of the cab... I'M COVERING THE ENTIRE SHIPPING.
The reason for this is I can get it bundled with the Vewlix L-AMI I've already purchased.
But only if we get the funding secured before my cab is ready to ship!
Once my cab ships out the deal on the shipping of any parts cab is gone.
If any part-out like this is planned for the future, might as well just add 500$ right to the top for STI (spoils any deal on parts IMO).

You'll have to order from Taito, thankfully the part is "cheap" the downer is they have 100$ minimum purchase requirement.
Might be a good thing to order with your 48cm stools?

I understand what you're doing. However, if you thought the $200 was low, It tells me that you already have an idea as to what you would want people to pay for them in order to meet the $1500. Being upfront with then expected prices might be easier to get a buyer was all I'm saying.
There's also a bit of issue with cosmetic parts in that no, you can't buy them from Taito, but chances are slim they look anything like new either. And you can't expect people to throw out a number for sight unseen cosmetic parts.
Things like the electronics, sure, those are easy to have expectations for.
Big chunks of metal might have faded differently than the cab they're being installed on, or bent, or who knows what. My rear hinged panel on my F control box doesn't lay quite flat, will this one? That would affect price.
There are a lot of unknowns at this point I feel, and that makes it hard for anyone to give a hard price when you don't even really know the condition of anything you're selling.

On a somewhat related note, is Taito supporting ye olde Egret 2/3 at all anymore at this point? From what I've seen in pictures, I'm guessing there's some parts carry-over between the Egret 3 and Vewlix with things like the Wei-Ya JVS PSU? Stickers, control panels, and the 2nd player harness would be the things most people would be interested in I'd imagine. I heard Taito has stopped selling complete control panels entirely for all cabinets?
oh I saw he had them.. I'm just glad to have that part number now! I'll get them on my next order, I keep forgetting about them since I'm just missing one and it's under the CP
They still sell the Taito JAMMA/JVS cards that were an option for the Egrets. The E2 PSUs are Taito branded and they sold out years ago. A gentleman on Shmups was selling a couple NOS Taito branded PSU's a couple weeks ago, I think he still had a couple left last I knew.
I should double-check about the CP harness being the same, I meant to yesterday and things got busy.
You can put me down for $25 for the controls harness either way (just buttons/josytick to AMP connector). I'll find a use for it. Figure it'll run me about that to make my own anyway, plus a convenience fee.

And while yes I would be willing to work with the (unfortunate) person that ordered X, but X was smashed.
There is a limit as to what I can be expected to cover in terms of loss as well.
So gamble? Yup it sure is, I think anyone who has ordered a cab understands this basic risk.
After all it's the reason why some of us are missing parts to begin with.
My Vewlix Diamond (blue/white) came in with a smashed/crushed INSTRUCTION STAND and a bent-up/rivet pop'd CONTROL COVER.
KC was only willing to work so much, I had to buy the other parts brandnew from Taito myself (thats how I know the part numbers and prices so well)...
Pay the crazy currency conversion fees, international wire transfer fees, then EMS international shipping.
By the time I was done I was about 750$ deep, basically half the price of another cab, but only TWO parts.

The difference here is that when you order a cab you know what you're getting, at least roughly. Sellers send pictures. Maybe not the highly detailed ones some people may want, but you get a shot that says "Hey, here's the cab" and you have a rough idea.
This is a completely unknown product. Not even one picture to get a general idea of the condition of what you're trying to sell., y'know?
Can't expect people to put in more than minimal "bids" without even knowing what they're buying.

Fair, I guess I'll ask @Cereth to post some pictures of his shipment of Vewlix F cabs?
As it would be one of them, and I know he is good about reporting condition/showing pictures.
Just remember without a deposit, thats all his pictures can do is give a general idea.
Can't expect a seller to hold a cab based on interest expressed by many people in a thread.
I won't put down a deposit unless this thread can inspire me with confidence that I will get the parts sold.
So far it is failing to do that in a major way and its really looking like this isn't going to happen.
