What's new
I got my cart in and it seems to work fine. Does anyone know of a way to get back to the game selection menu? Other than turning it off and back on?

Thank you to @rewrite for doing this project.

I think it was discussed that power cycle is the only way.

Maybe I'm wrong though.

If ever you want to let a mvs go please consider me ..
Really wanted one followed from start..
Gutted not going to be able to get one of parts dry up.
I'm sure some of these will end up for sale here before too long. People have to part with their treasured things when the bills hit, or they realize they don't use something and it can go to another home.

Yeah, things happens in life. Maybe it's my fate too trying to find one for sale later. But let's see, I'm still a bit hopeful that I could get one...

I sympathize with you. It is unfortunate that the parts turned out to be so rare.

The 2nd MVS cart was for my brother.

I have 1 MVS and 1 AES.

I hope we do not see any of these carts marked up on eBay or other marketplaces.

Unfortunately, you know that's going to happen. Just being what they are, they are going to be quite valuable and sought after. Im just glad I can consolidate and sell off the remaining carts I have and save a little space.

I had a few chances to buy spaces that was avalible for sale but held off as didn’t want to cause confusion during the AWOL.

Now I realised I should have jumped at the chance

Hi guys,

I received the multicart AES version today and thank you rewrite for mailing it to me.

Is there a special way to boot up the cartridge for it? I try to start up, but nothing seems to happen. I use a low serial number AES.

@Charlie Cat I had a similar issue with the AES cartridge I received and my console also is in the low serial numbers.

I wasn’t getting any sound from any game but no visual issues. I had to cleaned the contacts on the cartridge (I opened it to have better access at cleaning them), once I cleaned it all the games had sound.

I hope this helps, and I also had to do the same with the few home cartridges I have, they always had no sound or graphical issues.

Good to know R2rito. I'll try this out myself and see what happens. Thank you for the reply. 8^)

Awesome, thank you for the link. I will ask my friend to burn me a copy since I don't have an eeprom burner.
Sorry, I saw your text at 530am this morning and went "Oh, I'll reply to that later" and now it's 10PM, and neither seemed like a polite time to text. Completely spaced it the rest of the day, sorry about that.

Yeah, the M rom has pins that are directly connected to the cart edge, if they're too dirty to be read, no sound at all. And with varying cleanliness/age/tightness of cart slots, what may work okay in mine may not be clean enough for another or vice versa. After Khatru's I've started pre-cleaning/deoxiting them before shipping just in case.

The other thing is to use a *good* power supply. My OG one (not recapped) won't boot the 161's, even stock. I ended up buying a triad because I didn't want to fuss with the OG one at the time.

I did just get back to you @Charlie Cat , had only just seen the PM.

As for those who have missed out, or may potentially miss out: I've offered before, and will continue to offer: if folks have, or can find 2x v3 carts with the daughterboards, I am happy to make one for you for the same labor cost plus the additional two spare chips. May be worth checking with US sellers to see if they've just had some sitting on shelves, etc. Paradise or whoever.

I am almost fully caught up again. Shipped out 2 today, 1 goes out tomorrow. 3 more and I'll do another round of payment requests.

Glad to read that you're doing better now @rewrite. I don't check this site as regularly as I used to, so I didn't see the good news until just today.

Based on where I am in the status list it looks like you're about to contact me - I will check regularly for that PM. Very encouraging to see the testing videos and others posting about their own received carts.

Also still hoping that we can get that eightbit ban you'd said would get done @Darksoft . We have no further business, and he doxxed me on 3 forums over a $90 cart.

@rewrite and @R2rito

I gave the cartridge a good cleaning with the pins and now the game works perfectly. Thank you for your suggestions and having a blast playing the multicart on the AES. What a great deal and everything works perfectly. This really is better than I imagined. 8^)
