Old thread it seems, but I guess it's still the right thread ?
Recently got a CBOX pro. Everything works perfectly well except that sometimes my xbox arcade stick just won't connect (it lights up though but seems to be waiting) to the DB15 to USB adapter and I have to replug the stick (adapter still plugged into the CBOX PRO), I assume it could be related to my arcade stick and just bought those adapters for conveniency for friends who don't want to make a DB15 based arcade stick. Personally I don't really use the adapters.
Next and last issue, which to me is the biggest and I really wish I could find a solution.
I've already contacted
@axunworks about it through their support email but haven't gotten a response yet (it's not even been a week though so it's okay).
Basically, I'm having some kind of interference / low pass filtering issues that are really distracting during gameplay.
It's most noticeable on white to black transitions which display jailbairs, but even during normal gameplay you can constantly feel some degree of flickering.
Here is the CBOX PRO output : notice the jailbairs (ignore the CRT not being synced with the camera in the following screenshots) :
Here is the HAS supergun output which is perfectly clean. I also tried another old shitty supergun I have, and the output is also perfect.
It's way clearer in person and hard to get right on camera, but it's definitely noticeable and distracting.
In both cases I'm using RGB through a DB15 to scart cable. I tried switching to component on the CBOX PRO but the issue was exactly the same.
At first I thought it could have been a ground loop issue on the CBOX PRO, which I then opened and bridged earth and the DC ground on the main PSU but it changed absolutely nothing.
I tried to fiddle with the RGB gain potentiometer on the CBOX PRO aswell, and the issue is definitely not related to constrast/brightness at all.
Of course I tried changing the DB15 scart cable (bought from axunworks) but same issue.
Of course I tried bypassing my scart RGB switch.
I recapped this Sony PVM myself 2 years ago, I can guarantee it's not an issue with this unit, as I can reproduce the exact same issue, on the exact same spots, on my other nearby same-size PVM, running live side by side from the same video signal just as a test.
At this point I believe there has to be an issue with the video card on the CBOX PRO : my setup is exactly the same between other superguns and the CBOX PRO, up to the same power outlets even, and only the CBOX PRO suffers from this issue.
Unfortunately the problem is so distracting that, as it is, I can't say I take much pleasure using it despite it being, otherwise, a very nice and impressive piece of hardware.
