Let's Connect a PC to an Arcade Cab, Shall we??!!

I have SQ arcade and Anotino one, both work fine but they both have a dimm signal so I ended up using Capcom JVS IO board (as video amp) and for controls I am using GP2040-CE and it works great, I have wired all my controls to DB15 and using a switch box for switching between JAMMA controls, GP2040-CE, Sega Saturn and planning to add PS2 as well.

edit: also probably your adapter us taking forever to arrive becuase UAE airspace is closed, isnt ?
I felt mine was a tiny bit lacking in brightness as well, did you try adjusting all 3 color pots on the board up to see if it helped? I need to try it but would like to get a baseline from a real board using my meter first.

I did, I mean I can get it to work with everything cranked up ut then all the arcade boards run too bright. I am planning to get a 203rxi and put it in between Antonios board and have these 3 inputs (Saturn, PC and mister) that way can just adjust it the brightness from there

I meant the pots on the actual jamma adapter that is used by the mister, I am assuming thats what those are in red. I use the videoamp board on my groovymame setup and once I adjusted the pots on that I was able to get it pretty close. Lol, I have a 203rxi setup on my system for Naomi is one of the reasons I asked, I could pipe it through that as well.

I bought Antonio's Jamma adapter a few weeks ago. The website calls it "jamma adapter for mister". But it works for pc too.

https://antoniovillena.es/store/product/jamma-adapter/

It's detected as a 2 player joystick in Windows rather than a keyboard (xinput). As long as the emulator supports joysticks that's fine but older "keyboard only" frontends will not work.

I only tested with mame and that's fully supported by remapping the keys.

Did the input lag test and it is the best of all.

Game Tested: Bad Dudes Vs Dragon Ninja:

Pcb: 1 frame
Mister via Antonio's: 1 frame
Mister via JPAC: 2 frames
Mister via JAMMASD: 4 frames
Mister via SQARCADE: 2 frames
Groovymame via Antonio's: 1 frame
Groovymame via JPAC: 2 frames
Groovymame via JAMMASD: 4 frames
Groovymame via SQARCADE (in keyboard mode): 2 frames
PI via pi2jamma: 7 frames

I am the manufacturer. Thank you for your tests.

(Groovymame tested with setting framedelay to 7 and installing sweetlows 1000hz usb poller).

Pros:
1. No input lag
2. Has stereo at jamma edge (right speaker on pins 11/M)
3. Good value.
4. Tiny foot print.
5. Built in amp with 12v taken from the jamma edge.

It's almost 3 years ago from the test, and some thinks are improved in the product.

Cons: (could be my stupidity, I can't find a manual yet).

There is no manual yet. The product is simple and for advanced stuff like configure stereo or 6th button chamma I prefer people ask me by email before they start soldering and ruin the board.

1. Red hue to the screen for both mister and PC.

I don't know if you have video amplified (new) version, but in both cases the 3 channels are simmetrical and there is no reason for red hue. Maybe it's due to the dac (sync on green or similar activated).

2. Keyboard mode not available but might be needed for older emulators and frontend navigation.

Yes. I use gamepad mode always. But frontent navigation is not a problem with OSD shortcut.

3. Case cut out is a few mm out and does not allow the cps2 harness to connect without disassembly of the case

This was fixed. I have changed also the case from acrylic to FR4.

4. Could not find a "shift mode" to enable extra buttons like credit or escape (unlikely to be available for joystick mode).

Not yet implemented, but It's possible implement in the future. I understand you want something like Free Play without inserting the coin.

5. Player 1 and Player 2 mixed up in Windows.

Do you mean swapped? Because Windows detects as 2 joysticks. Win+R and typing "joy.cpl" you can see separate joysticks

6. No sync safety. If your graphics card sends a 31k or higher signal it will sent it to the monitor as-is.

I don't plan to implement this. Using the same micro it will add lag and adding separate micro would make it more expensive. And the main target is MiSTer, and there is safe.

I recommend download the full mappings from here:
https://github.com/MiSTer-DB9/JAMMA_MiSTer

This way you don't have to configure each core. It's completely plug and play. The shortcut for OSD is pressing START for player 1 during 2 seconds or more.

Hey guys, phantastic thread and so detailed !!! Thanks so much for sharing !! :-)

I just bought a Sega Strike Fighter and would love to have this converted to a multi machine where I can play all other fligh simulation games like Climax, Star wars. The idea is to turn on the cab, then getting a game selection menu, I choose the game I want to play and the game gets loaded. Has anybody experience with that and can recommend a PC setup ?
