Hey everyone. Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I thoght it would be better than creating another one just to ask one question:

I'm a bit confused about the MVS carts I see on Ebay, etc. from time to time. Many sellers insist they're legit copies, which I assume is true and fine. Then there's lots of copies where I don't know if I can make sure it's a repro, and if it is, I assume it's using the beta / protoype rom?

I'm still an ignorant about protected and/or decrypted roms so I don't know if Garou (final version rom) actually is "reproducible" or not.

Thanks in advance.

Short answer no, due to custom bank switching of P rom.
Copy and 161 in 1 and all not original version use beta version yes.

I knew about the multicarts not featuring the complete/final rom. What i wasn't sure yet is if it can be reproduced on its own cart. But I assumed it was not possible yet.
Thank you.

Could be possible to make a conversion of this game using The King of Fighters 99' cartridges? The share all the customs, except NEO-SMA, which in KOF99 is KA rev. and in Garou is KF revision.

Can you elaborate? I don't know about it

I've always been curious about this. How did they do it, anyway?

I'm not really familiar with the security on the Neo, so I cant say exactly how they do it. But I imagine they do same thing any of the multi carts do.

At this point in time we have 3 flash cart options and all of them can run the release version of Garou.

What is the cheapest flash cart option for playing Garou on MVS?

Coming to think it. If Garou AES+ cartridges come with a 1:1 NEO-SMA replica, that could open the gate of making clean converts on King of Fighters '99 MVS pcbs, or even not having any fear of original Garou to break.

I'm willing to bet that a 1:1 copy of this neo-sma will not be made because the cassettes are low budget.
I'm betting on a software solution.
I've thought about this before and it will be fun to see the people dump that comes out.
