I started from scratch in the end. Some progress is made, at first it was just black screen. After now it's trying to boot, and going to a green screen.

Oh boy, Model2 reverse engineering? Well, it's possible, but I don't have any info on the security key stuff. That'd be in the programming guide I'm sure, but it's never been made public. I can check against MAME's keys to see if I can find offsets, but I'd also have to compile a special version of MAME that doesn't automagically apply the keys.

I've tried disassembling Model3, it's a bit out of my research league.

No need to recompile just test it out in a game driver for one of the games that doesn't use security.

Even model 3 has a few unprotected games that can be used for a similar test.
