Hi guys,
After more then one year of searching... I got a NAC and now I am on the last step of the restoration: fixing the monitor.

Monitor is an MS9-29S Nanao/Toshiba and it came burns-free, with good colors, a serviced chassis, but with some light convergence issue related the left bottom corner.

So, I planned to get some convergence strips to fix that and in the mean time I washed it.

Once received the strips, I turned it on (after 3 weeks of the washing) and the picture was pretty much in previous conditions but with a better focus. I left it operating and after a while this general mis-convergence shown in the following photo happened. I just remember that I heard the same kind of click that you hear when you turn it on and when I checked it the convergence of all the screen area was compromised.
How that happened?

Describing the following picture it seems a general symmetrical mis-convergence which will involve working on the static convergence rings (?). Also, the picture loses the focus towards the center.

I have already marked the original rings position and checked that moving them the picture actually change.
I am assuming this adjustment will involve just the second and third couple of rings (starting from the yoke). It won’t involve the purity rings.
I wonder if someone could give me his view about it?
If it is a rings issue, it would be great some tips about how to approach that?
Basing on this photo, perhaps someone might know what ring to move, or if the couples of rings need to be moved together…. (?)

I hope it is not a very bad issue…

Thanks for any help

Rotating the pair moves/rotates them together, splitting the pair moves red/blue towards or away from each other.
Clear explanation. Thanks! Hopefully, I will fix it and it won't involve adjusting the other rings.

I saw many guys online operating with the rings in their bare hands (actually, I adjusted a tilted yoke in my bare hands about 15 years ago... but I won't do it again!)
I am waiting for a good pair of gloves for it...

Is the caulk ok to block the rings?

I use my bare hands for monitor setup all the time. If you don't know where not to touch, then you probably should not be working on monitors.

Yes you can use silicone, or even hot glue.

I am an amateur, but I know where do not put the hands. I feel more confortable working with gloves in general. I will do it as soon I have a quite window of time to work on.
Thanks again for your indications. Hopefully I will sort it out!

I did about 3 sessions of work of about one hour each and that it is the best that I can get

It is not perfect, but perhaps is a good compromise... probably perfection is hard to get on these big boys...
The top-left corner is most imperfect... The red is slightly off ...also a bit at the bottom-right border line... but to be fair it is barely visible in game...

I tuned everything with four corvergence strips. I could tune a bit more the top-left corner but the gap where I suppose to insert a further strip is obstructed by some extra glue used to secure the yoke to the tube.

I am thinking to take what I got,
secure the rings
and secure the strips with some kapton tape, I am afraid they could move when I install back the tube into the cab.
Any other thoughs about how to secure ther strips? Gorilla tape maybe?

Thanks!

I'm tempted to play a bit with the rings trying to get better the top-left corner, but I think I will accept this compromise.

Although I marked the current rings position, I noticed that once you set the convergence strips if you try to move again the rings you lose the corrections done with the strips and you need to install them again... I did that twice...
I tried to play with another strip at the top/top-left, but that little bit of offset red is stuck! No way to move it (?)
