Hi guys,
After more then one year of searching... I got a NAC and now I am on the last step of the restoration: fixing the monitor.
Monitor is an MS9-29S Nanao/Toshiba and it came burns-free, with good colors, a serviced chassis, but with some light convergence issue related the left bottom corner.
So, I planned to get some convergence strips to fix that and in the mean time I washed it.
Once received the strips, I turned it on (after 3 weeks of the washing) and the picture was pretty much in previous conditions but with a better focus. I left it operating and after a while this general mis-convergence shown in the following photo happened. I just remember that I heard the same kind of click that you hear when you turn it on and when I checked it the convergence of all the screen area was compromised.
How that happened?
Describing the following picture it seems a general symmetrical mis-convergence which will involve working on the static convergence rings (?). Also, the picture loses the focus towards the center.
I have already marked the original rings position and checked that moving them the picture actually change.
I am assuming this adjustment will involve just the second and third couple of rings (starting from the yoke). It won’t involve the purity rings.
I wonder if someone could give me his view about it?
If it is a rings issue, it would be great some tips about how to approach that?
Basing on this photo, perhaps someone might know what ring to move, or if the couples of rings need to be moved together…. (?)
I hope it is not a very bad issue…
Thanks for any help
