Recently, I got a Namco System 10 running Taiko no Tatsujin 5. I hooked it up to my system 256's power and the game runs fine - it goes through its opening movie and the attract mode without a hitch-, there's audio output, but, alas, one thing has to go wrong: neither my new monitor nor my 4:3 Sony "SDM-E76D" monitor can pick up any video, and when I tried using a VGA > HDMI converter (plugging it into my monitor and using an HDMI capture card) it produced the same result.

I tried the external VGA port on the EM1 PCB, and the 2 VGA ports on the system 10 board but none did anything different. The older monitor says "OUT OF RANGE // INPUT2: HD15 // 15.7kHZ/60Hz" (image), so I know there's a signal being pushed from it. Is there something I can adjust with the system 10 to get the video to show up? I know there are 8 dipswitches on the board, so I'm wondering if flipping any of them would be able to sort my problem out (I had to do this with my System 256 to get it to display anything), or is there some kind of converter I can buy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The system outputs 15khz 240p-480i video signals, even through the VGA ports. Seems like your monitor or video converter doesn’t support that resolution at all, most monitors don’t support that video resolution. You might need to use a converter to upscale the resolution to something the monitor can support or find a different monitor or TV that can support 15khz
