Naomi 1 set up via OSSC/Capcom IO board

ok set IP address to 192.169.1.2 and tried ikaruga. Thought I had it but I get this screen that is counting down from 300. What is this? If I credit the credit counter doesn’t go up. I can’t seem to do anything.

Got tired of messing with the Naomi 2. I think maybe the netdimm doesn’t make a great connection with the main board and I don’t know where the screws are. Who knows. I swapped in a Naomi 1 and it works. I can credit and play ikaruga. I still don’t have perfect sync on the blast city. I’m assuming I need to fiddle with a knob on the back to get it to hold.

Screen is asking you to adjust brightness and contrast until you can just see a silhouette I'm the box.

Multibios Will give you some problems, I prefer a original bios. I'm using a japanese one. First you have to be sure that Naomi is communicating with Linux. You did any test?

I think I have the same multibios in my Naomi 1 and Naomi 2. The Naomi 2 was just really flaky. Naomi 1 works fine so I’m just messing with that one for now. Most of the stuff I want to play is on Naomi 1.

tried 31hz from Naomi direct to dsub on Nanao 2930. Made sure to set the dip switches on the monitor and the Naomi. No dice I get nothing. 15hz works. This was using a vga cable with pin 9 pulled out on each side.

could it possibly be cable quality? The official one looks pretty beefy.

I don't think it's a cable problem atm. Get you OSSC or extron and see if it shows 31khz.

Update to my issue. Received the multi bios from a seller in Canada.

Installed the chip and guess what guys no sound nothing. Even tried it with my new scart RGB cable from retro gaming cables the 8pin Mini DIN to EuroSCART PACKAPUNCH cable for RGB modified consoles
- Cable Length : 1.8M ≈ 6ft
- RGB-MOD-SCART Sync Type: Passive

Tried both my HAS and my new MiniSupergun and still nothing. I am this close to sending it to someone to look it over to me. I don't want to send it back to the seller because he is located in Italy. If someone is willing to help I can send to you and have it paid to it back to me please?

Yeah the Capcom IO will properly convert an arcade PSU to the required 3.3v.

Mitsurugi on this board sells proper ATX to Naomi cables but that’s really only if you want to run a GDROM Setup since that will require two PSUs to run.

If you’re using a Naomi, unless you really want to play on a PVM, you shouldn’t be using rgb scart and 15khz. You should use the Supergun for controls only and have the VGA cable connect from Naomi to Monitor or OSSC (I do the latter). The Capcom IO is also an amplifier on its own so you’ll need to use two sets of RCA cables (Naomi to Capcom IO, then Capcom IO to monitor or OSSC). You need to also have the dip switches set on the Naomi to run 31khz. You don’t need to touch anything on the HAS. Also make sure your Capcom IO has the proper toggled switches or else you will have weird 3P and 4P inputs.

I can’t speak for your PC PSU, but I use a Meanwell PSU for mine, and after I read the manual and also had tips from a fellow Naomi owner. I was on my way.
