Everyone is using custom firmware these days...
Flash cards like Gateway existed as a transitional device, in a time period before the magnet hack/NitroBoot method was discovered/existed.

I don't wish the seller/OP any ill will, but everyone should remember I offer this service (flashing custom firmware to any 3DS/2DS model in existence) for free if you simply send me the unit.
