ok cool, will go with the img on the SD card then, my board was from the first batch with the fixed audio crackling thingyUnless your CPS2 is from the very first batches you should be able to update the firm by just copying the file flash.img into the root of your microSD. If everything went well, the file will be gone after the update (4-5 secs).Anyone has a good link to purchase the required tool for flashing the firmware? (EU based)
If you still need one you just need it to have a SWD port and follow the instructions. You can buy i.e. from ebay or from here:

You are good to go.Not gonna lie, this has totally made my day. Just ordered the JST connectors from RS Components.
My multi is from January this year, I'm assuming the firmware update is just plug and play?
There is no Arduino, the micro-controller on the multi has assumed the role of the Arduino.Guess I'll be getting an arduino and the rest of stuff used for this update ASAP. Thanks DS and Mitsu!

^THAT^ is really awesomeI confirm. Can be used to revive a dead Board but you need to have a battery installed of courseCan this also be used to revive a dead board with a new battery? (I assume it can but would like to confirm)![]()
Thx for the links (I'll flip a coin between rtw's and twisted's). Last time I hijack the thread..promise... is there like a "big box of pins and useful connectors" sold somewhere? I would love to make one order and be set up for many common arcade pcb applications. Most of what has turned me off from making my own cables is sifting through mouser and digikey to match and order the parts, then waiting for delivery. I'd buy extra stock to just have a box of functional e.g. 2,3,4,5,8,10,12 pin connectors that I could dive into when I needed something.I don't know about "best" but definitely a solid optionIf you are going to do some JST crimping you have to have the best:

This. Pin spacing is usually somewhat standard. For instance JST NH is 2.5mm, so close enough to 2.54mm which is standard. The problem is the wrong connectors won't lock on to the headers, so it's not exactly a great solution. You can however buy a dupont connector kit and make harnesses that work with most pin headers even if it's not the right connector. They're kind of shitty connectors though. I tend to only use them if I need to build something quick or something custom.
