New NEO-GEO Aes will be released ?

This is a pretty cool initial selection of games to be released! Only $90 each, and they will work on my AES from the 90’s!

Also, for games like Shock Troopers, it will be the first time it gets an official AES release. I believe a couple of those games had previously only been released in Japan, so that’s cool to be getting english releases!

Wow. Crazy if this is fully compatible with OG carts. Very cool. Though I have a 4-slot cab and also a consolized MVS as well so not for me but still very cool!

That white one is beautiful. Ordered!

Gods give me strength so i won't preorder a NeoGeo AES+ 🙏
Absolutely hate this announcement, it's sounds to good to be true and it wouldn't be the First time where people where played for fools with the whole pay now receive later... but man that White AES is Sexy and a cheap Twinkle Star Sprites is also nothing to scoff at

On paper it seems to be the real deal:
- 1:1 console, sticks, pad
- HDMI + analogue RGB out
- running on a 68K and Z80 just as the original Neo Geo
- accepts original and new cartridges (wondering if it will run multicarts)
-Very reasonable pricing

Where's the catch? Seems almost too good to be true...

With other recent releases like the Commodore 64 Ultimate, Chromatic, and Analogue's consoles... There is a reasonable chance it could turn out well. Here's to hoping I guess!

Been wondering this too. Between the choice to stay with DB15 instead of switching to USB, keeping analog out, the extremely well-selected launch game lineup, and forwards/backwards compatibility with original accessories, they've made basically every choice that I would have made. All the information so far indicates that it's a device for sickos like us.

The potential sticking points aren't from something bad that we know, it's about vague things that could resolve in a non-optimal way. For example we know that they're using ASICs rather than FPGA or emulation, but we don't know the quality of the ASIC reproduction. It could be like a shitty Famiclone, or it could be a perfect recreation, or somewhere in-between. Without more detail, it's impossible to know.

Secondly they didn't give video output details beyond analog and HDMI. What analog output formats? What resolutions will HDMI support? Will there be a direct-out option on the HDMI for use with scalers? What about scanline filters?

Given that everything that they have detailed is, IMO, the right choice, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on what we don't know.

What games would you guys recommend to get based on the list that they release? (Limit it to 3 please for budgetary reasons lol)

Depends which package you're getting. If you're getting the White, you're already getting Metal Slug, so maybe Magician Lord, Garou, and Pulstar? Maybe swap in Shock Troopers for one of the 3. It really is a solid starting lineup. eh, my 2 cents. More seasoned Neo Geo fans might list differently.

If we ignore price, rarity and how often they got rereleased:
Shock Troopers
Metal Slug
Twinkle Star Sprites

Mark of the Wolf is considered to be one of the best (retro) Fighter ever but personally never liked it that much. For King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown i personally prefer different entries in the Series (KoF98/KoF2000 & Samsho II/Samsho IV)

Anyone in the US able to preorder one? It gives me a "The product in your cart is not available for delivery to your location." error when trying to checkout.

Did WA state succeed from the union without me knowing? ;)
