New NEO-GEO Aes will be released ?

anybody have any success cancelling their orders from Plaion? I'd rather go through amazon instead, but I haven't heard back yet
I tried to cancel my anniversary edition as I wanted to go for ultimate. But no response in a few days

I kept both because who knows, Plaion might ship way sooner, and Amazon is far easier to cancel.

The system should not be on display..makes me think that there’s nothing inside the system and the game cart; just empty plastic..

Set it up to a CRT and invite people to test it out to build up interest.

They claim the cartridges are also compatible with the older AES, but it's impossible to manufacture these cartridges using EPROM chips now. My question is, what will the read speed of these new cartridges be?
I'm just hoping the storage is something that will last 20+ years without babying, not like Switch/3DS carts.

On Saudi money / Mohammed Bin Salman: Beyond owning SNK, MBS has stakes in Capcom and Nintendo. Unfortunately, lots of billionaires who I dislike and disagree with stand to benefit financially from lots of products and services I use. I'm not discouraging anyone from voting with their wallet, just acknowledging that it's increasingly difficult not to fund people you disagree with.

Really or AI joke?

Been wondering this too. Between the choice to stay with DB15 instead of switching to USB, keeping analog out, the extremely well-selected launch game lineup, and forwards/backwards compatibility with original accessories, they've made basically every choice that I would have made. All the information so far indicates that it's a device for sickos like us.

The potential sticking points aren't from something bad that we know, it's about vague things that could resolve in a non-optimal way. For example we know that they're using ASICs rather than FPGA or emulation, but we don't know the quality of the ASIC reproduction. It could be like a shitty Famiclone, or it could be a perfect recreation, or somewhere in-between. Without more detail, it's impossible to know.

Secondly they didn't give video output details beyond analog and HDMI. What analog output formats? What resolutions will HDMI support? Will there be a direct-out option on the HDMI for use with scalers? What about scanline filters?

Given that everything that they have detailed is, IMO, the right choice, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on what we don't know.
Creaters have chimed in on x or elsewhere with more details on the analog out. They say composite, RGB, and stereo audio through the din.

Games ordered on Amazon JP, just because I think the covers look better than the EU/US. And actually a better deal for me not living in EU, I will only pay VAT once (and not twice like when ordering on Plaion's shop).

I read somewhere that the covers will be reversible. If so, that is clever of them, and people can choose which artwork they want.

This is from the fella on the youtubes who say the hardware in Japan right?
Yes from some fella on YouTube who took a photo of the one shown to my understanding. Also looks the same as the rotating render of the anniversary edition in their trailer

I have been checking the SNK Official website since the first tweet of this new release and not a line of text has been spent to promote it. I find this behavior weird and it doesn’t put in a good light the work of Plaion… it seems like SNK is taking distance from it although it is a product in license… I mean, why you shouldn’t promote the reincarnation of your most famous hardware?
Perhaps it’s just my thought.
