Open Source USB2DB15 for Supergun adapter

First of all, thanks a lot for this great project, I want to use it in the mvs console I'm trying to make. I made the necessary preparations with Arduino and usb shield. I flashed the USB2DB15. My plan is to solder the pins in the circuit to the jamma with cables. But while reading the Adapter Schematic, I saw pins like MISO, SCK, MOSI. What do I do with them? There is no place to solder on the jamma socket. Should I leave them as they are or do they have a function?

My understanding is that these pins are for programming the AVR microcontrollers, e.g. see:
https://docs.arduino.cc/built-in-examples/arduino-isp/ArduinoISP/#how-to-wire-your-boards
But normally you shouldn't need them because Arduinos are already preprogrammed with a bootloader that makes it easier to program them via serial/USB interface (via the other pins on the board, TX, RX etc, as described in the flashing instruction here: https://github.com/Raphfriend/USB2DB15/blob/master/FLASHING.md ).
So if you wanted to use them directly, you could just populate them with pin headers just like other programming pins, but there is no need for this since there is already another way of programming the chip.

(If I got something wrong feel free to correct me, I learned basically all of this for the purpose of assembling this project :P )

Thank you so much for your help. I'm asking my last silly question :shame: I solder the wire from Jamma's 5 volt socket to the Vcc pin of the arduino, which says 3.3 volts on the schematic, right? I just connected the arduino to the computer with ttl to test it, I measured it with a voltmeter, vcc gives 5 volts.

I don't think this is right, I think you need to in fact provide it with 3.3V which is why the bill of materials includes a 3.3V voltage regulator (REG1117). In particular I think this is due to the host shield, at least the aliexpress listing I bought it from mentions it only works properly with 3.3V.

I had a look through schematics/BOM yesterday and I noticed something I didn't before - IC1 in the CSV BOM is mentioned as "S-816A40AMC-BAPT2U" - this is a 4V regulator, which I think is a mistake, schematics mentions S-816A50AMC instead which is 5V (which makes more sense).

Hi Everyone,

I just received a USB2DB15 and it works fine: It recognized my Daija Nacon and I can remap the buttons as desired pressing 3 seconds the "COIN" button and then pressing 6 buttons. After remapping, the buttons work as expected.

But this configuration is not stored in the Arduino, if I power off and on again the MVS, the mapping is lost.

Could you please advice on what I'm doing wrong? What should I do to "save" the mapping in the default configuration? (I think it's UP+COIN).

Thanks.
Please post a photo from your adapter.

I would be very grateful if anybody could suggest a solution to get the mapping saved in my USB2DB15... it's annoying having to remap all the buttons every time I switch on the console (not just every day, every time I change the game)...

Thanks.
You should ask the shop if it has profiles that can be saved cause that PCB has been modified from the original open source design that's currently on the Git. I've made a few myself and it's a little different.

Hello

How can i update my usb2db15 to play with the astrocity stick ?

Where i can i connect it…?

I just updated USB2DB15 to the latest version (I had to use an USB2TTL programmer).

Profiles work OK because I can set 4 different configurations with COIN+UP, COIN+DOWN, COIN+LEFT and COIN+RIGHT. I can set different mappings for them and then change between them and they work as they were configured.

But they are lost when I power off the console. When I power it on again, all the mappings are lost.

The programming output was OK, including the verification.

Any idea on what's wrong?

Is there any keys combination to do to "save" the mapping to the arduino, or it's saved as soon as you release COIN/SELECT?

PS: By the way, to be able to flash it, I had to connect DTR, TX and RX directly to the Arduino Mini, and Vcc and Gnd to the shield. Using the DTR / TR / RX in the shield was not resetting the arduino and giving no response to avrdude... like if they were not connected to the Arduino. So I set VCC/GND to the shield and DTR / TR / RX directly to the arduino and then I was able to flash the latest version.

Hello,

If i buy an USB2TTL, i will connect it

arcade express have not the last update

Everyone is buying the modded version from AliExpress, and it’s getting out of control because we don’t have any documentation about the changes. If you bought it on AliExpress or anywhere else that sells the same board, please stop posting here.

Also, I’m looking for a good source of parts so we can make a new official batch.
