Now I’ll throw this one out. Anyone have any fighting game cabinets they’re thinking of letting go of? Depending on the cabinet and deal I may be willing to trade my Power Instinct multicade with thousands of different games. Even some that perhaps shouldn’t be on it. Like game boy and an n64 game (Super Mario 64). lol don’t blow my cover. I’ll look and see how many games come on it in more detail… Any questions feel free to ask me.

This is probably not the group that would want to trade a CRT cab for an LCD cab, but you never know. The best thing would be to put your location, not just a state and people can decide if it's worth the drive to check it out. Welcome to the forums and good luck with any trades or sales!

Oh, plenty of people would sell and LCD cab for a CRT cab. I said not many people here would trade you a real fighting cab with a CRT for your homemade LCD cab. Why? I just have a hunch I'm right...

Most people want the real and authentic experience.

I mean, why are you hunting down an expensive PCB of Fighting Layer and an expensive SuperGun when a cheap Pi will let you play the game on your TV for under $40? Same reason on the cabs.

I see your point. But well… to be honest for that reason. It would be nice to have an authentic version also because Arika is a smaller company so I almost feel bad emulating their games. Honestly I felt guilty just getting a multicade haha I still kind of feel that way. If it was a bigger company maybe I’d feel less guilty but yeah. Also wanting to work at a game company adds another layer to the issue. It won’t look good if they find out about it… it probably sounds stupid but… it’s how I feel.

But your argument is valid. They haven’t exactly made the game widely available.

Define "fighting game cabinet".

Because your power instinct cab is technically a fighting game cab. 2-players = check. 6 buttons per player = check. could you not use this for other fighting games already?

If you buy a used FL PCB, Arika isn't getting 1 penny from it, trust me.

Don't let anyone tell you how to or how not to play games, but most people here are enthusiasts and they want the authentic experience, for that reason, I don't think there are many that would trade a dedicated cabinet for a modern version you made. Same reason you want to trade it away to begin with. After all, @opt2not is right, why not just keep your cabinet and put FL in it?

I’m not following could you please clarify? The dude I got it from said some games are too new for him to put on there as he can only put games that are deemed open source I don’t know if either game falls into that category… but then again it has ps1 games on it so yeah.

Like I said before I need to work on becoming more arcade savvy I’m really not…

You pull out whatever BS emulation system is inside, and put a real PCB in there. Use a SuperGun and a scaler to connect to your LCD and controls.

If it's already wired for JAMMA, you don't even need a SuperGun.

Open the back of your cabinet and share some pictures of the inside. Then we'll be able to tell you what kind of wiring the cabinet is already setup for. If you're lucky, there will already be a JAMMA harness in there so you'll be ready to swap out the emulation that's in there currently for a arcade board.

That’s a good idea.

No I get it… you want the real thing I understand and respect that.

I’m also willing to pay but it may not be for awhile.

But I need to save up a bit. Maybe this was a bad idea. I could wait.
