Hi All,

I might have made a huge mistake. Generally, I've purchased most of my MiSTer FPGA solutions from MiSTer Addons and was getting impatient for his new dual ram MiSTercade. I made a rash decision and purchased the Retrocastle solution instead and I am now struggling to get this thing up and running. It works perfectly fine on my monitor and TV but the minute I plug it into my Sega Blast City, I get a scrambled image and have no idea how to proceed. Does anyone have any experience with Retrocastle's products? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I plan on buying the dual ram mistercade when it's released but would love to figure out how to get this one working in the process.

Thanks!

Is composite sync enabled in your MiSTer.ini file? And make sure that the output resolution is set correctly.

FYI: the dual RAM MiSTercade will be going on sale any day now.

Hi @ShootTheCore

I appreciate you helping out here. I'm trying to read through the Mistercade thread to see if I find the answer somewhere but I'm only on page 20 or 60 or so lol. Out of respect for Porkshop, I didn't want to discuss another product on his thread. Regardless, I appreciate you helping out here.

I currently have composite_sync=1.

I'm not sure how to check the output resolution. Is that in the MiSter.ini file?

Wait, are you talking about the resolution setting on the MiSTer software? If so, I'll try that now.

Yeah, it's set in the MiSTer.ini file. Actually, I have a correction - you'll want to make sure direct_video is set to 1 in the mister.ini file - that should set the resolution properly. If it doesn't then also try setting hdmi_limited to 1.

If neither of those settings fix the problem, please post a short video of your display so we can see specifically what kind of distortion you're getting.

Thanks! I went ahead and made those updates. Your original notes didn't do the trick but I hope this helps. I'll post a video if it doesn't.

Sorry for the delay. My blast city tube took a dump and I'm now searching for another one. I think I found one but am waiting for John at PNL to confirm it'll work. I'll test out your recommendation when it comes back.

Still waiting on my tube and chassis to come back from John at PNL but I should be receiving my mistercade v2 today. It was supposed to arrive yesterday but USPS didn't drop it off. Fingers crossed it arrives today.

Where did you buy your retro castle adaptor from? I’ve been looking for extras earlier in the year but could never find them

I got it at Rondo or Castlemania but they’re not selling them anymore. I contacted Ivory, the designer of the board and they informed me they’ll sell them directly now that those two locations are sold out. Unfortunately, they never got back to me after I requested details on how to place an order for another one. You can find them online, just do a google search for retro castle and connect with Ivory over discord.

Hey reviving this from the dead as I'm trying to figure out the retro castle JAMMA for a friend. He's not getting any video at all, but when I press the reset button, the video will come up, but no controls and then obviously lose signal when I let go. Not sure if that's the same problem as you, since I'm getting no video vs scrambled video.

Its got direct video, csync enabled, dual RAM dip in the right spot.

The customer support for this thing is all but non-existent. So seeing if anyone has a similar thing pop up. I just find it odd video will work perfect if I hold reset. So something is screwy where maybe the video isn't grounded properly but somehow does with the reset button.
