Hello all!

My first post here!

I just got a Sega STV PCB with the Pokemon Print Club cartridge along with the video board, camera, etc...

However I get a black screen. I did resolder both CPU, work ram.
I dumped the BIOS and it's fine with version 1.13

Looking around at address and data lines with a scope, I noticed some strange noise or weird waveforms for the data lines. Address lines are fine. I suspected the LS245s at first but replacing didn't help.

Now, I'm wondering if I may have one of those PCB revision requiring a cable mentioned here:

From this thread:
https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/st-v-black-screen.5932/post-89238

"- One of the STV PCB revisions has a design bug that on factory they installed a cable, on the edge of the cable there is a small filter coil and that connects to the clock section. If that cable is loose or not existing (ripped off during years) then the board cannot boot."

Does anyone know where and how this cable/wire connects? Also what kind of coil/ferrite it uses?

Thank you.

I finally found the issue on my board. That was cracked solder on the CN5 connector. Playing with it, I was randomly able to boot into the bios.

I did resolder the entre connector along with all other 3 and all is fine now.

Ordered the Darksoft multi and now enjoying games!!!
