APOCALYPSE Sega System 24 multi kit sale & support

Judging by the fact it has 1-2 NEC uPD4701AC chips
It's not time limited if you previously ordered a older revision multi.
Thanks for the confirming. I ordered it around April/May 2023. It may be a while before my turn comes up on the M92 list so I'm happy to wait it out.
I think I have the pinout of the I/O but I think it uses a spinner instead of the analog wheel. Not 100% sure.
Judging by the fact it uses 1-2 NEC uPD4701AC chips which are the same ones used for the CPS1 spinner and the Sega trackball I/O I'd say you're right. There's also 1-2 OKI chips which I'm not sure of their purpose, pedals maybe?

That's actually optimal & preferred as I happen to have a spinner on hand already for cps1.

It would be awesome if we could document this for preservation.

Hello guys. I have good and bad news about the fix for sound in Bonanza Bros when using the custom romboard design. Unfortunately the sound issue could not be fixed on the current design of the custom romboard. So we had to redesign the custom romboard entirely.

So here is the new design:

As you can see we've replaced the eproms with a single flash module. This is the same module as on S18 and M92 and is programmed with the exact same equipment and software. We've also replaced the Gal chips with a single CPLD. Not only does this new design fix the sound issues in Bonanza Bros but it also allows our S24 multi to run UNPATCHED CODE for the first time.

Every S24 multi ordered from this point forward will come with this romboard by default. If anyone who has a S24 multi already would like to upgrade to this revision we will do an upgrade special of $75 plus shipping just for the romboard.
I hate to sound like a cheap dick about this, but I am in fact a cheap dick.

Is $75 the best price you can do for supporters of the original multi? I mean, can we at least get it at cost? If this is the best price, I get it, but man that sucks on the first run buyers.

Hmm. I thought $75 was cheap tho? The ability to use unpatched code is an upgrade not possible on the old multi hardware and not a trivial thing. If it was JUST a fix for sound in Bonanza bros I would probably agree that $75 is too much.

Also to be clear the sound issue isn't present on the first version of the multi that plugs into an OG romboard. It is only present on the custom romboard version. If you bought a multi from me in the last year contact me. I will definitely give you a better deal.

Hmm, I think I have the first one, and I didn't notice the sound issues, so that makes sense. Also, I thought this was a fix for the sound only, but I see it's adding something else, so I'm good. Just seemed a bit high for a sound fix, but I understand now, thanks!

I am not asking for code.
I am simply asking for an anonymous source to ahem archive the updated multi.
Also screw chicago customs. Japan isnt china get educated dorks.
